Other Games....

If you enjoy Panzer Front here is a list of other games you might want to try:

The Medal of Honor series

The MOH series is an amazing first-person shooter available for PS1, PS2, and PC. Set in the world of the OSS and WW2, it offers non-stop WW2 action, adventure and intrigue. Great graphics, amazing sound, authentic weapons, uniforms and enviroments make these games the best first person shooters in the world

Medal of Honor, the first of the series, for PS1 (1999)

You are OSS agent Lt. Jimmy Patterson, sent deep behind enemy lines to complete seven deadly missions, from the theft of an Enigma machine from a U-boat to the destruction of a heavy water plant in Norway. This game will have on the edge of your seat and sweating from the tension. Includes head to head multi player action. Available as a Greatest Hits title

MOH-Underground, the prequel, for PS1 (2000)

You are Manon, Jimmy's case officer. A member of the Maquis, the French underground, and later the OSS. You must complete seven missions to liberate your country from Nazi tyranny. Sometimes more Lara Croft than WW2, the
storyline is considered by some to be inferior to the original, but gameplay is improved. Includes very much improved multi player action. Available as a Greatest Hits title.

MOH-Allied Assault for PC (2001)

You are US Ranger Mike Powell, storming the beach at Normandy. The author of this reveiw has not played this game. It includes the ability to download
additional levels and missions and has amazing online multi player action.

MOH-Frontline, the sequel, for PS2 (2002)

Again, you are Lt Jimmy Patterson. An absolutely amazing game! You will storm Omaha Beach on D-Day, as if you were in the middle of "Saving Private Ryan". At times working with AI teammates, fight your way thru the beach defenses and a shattered French village. Sneak into a Nazi stronghold to
release an imprisoned member of the underground. Take part in Operation Market Garden, crossing Nijmegen bridge to link up with British Paras.
Battle with them thru the heart of Arhnem, house to house! No multi player action

Panzer General Series (PSone/PC)

A turned based strategic wargame played on an hexagonal map.   Recreate WWII from the invasion of Poland and France until the Battle for Berlin.  Features a campaign mode where your performance in the current battle determines the which battle you will fight next.  Fictional battle such as the invasion of England are included as well as historical battles.

Panzer Elite (PC)

A very in-depth simulation, a lot like SSI's Panzer Commander, is marred by being limited to Germany Vs USA in Italy and Normandy, as well as being far too easy for the Germans and impossible for the USA. Amazing user made mods improve the game beyond measure, adding the nations and areas of conflict missing.

Panzer Commander (PC)

This first and third person perspective tank sim is one of the better tank simulations on the market. Play as a German, Russian, British or US tank in either a single scenario or campaign. You may also design your own scenarios with a mission editor.

Gameplay:  Forget your joystick. the easy to learn and configurable keyboard controls make this sim a joy to play. Your difficulty settings can be set from invincible to impossible. The scenarios are fine, but the meat of the game is in the many campaigns. all are history based. You are restricted to which type of tank you use depending on the scenario. In the campaigns, your tanks are upgraded and replaced as the campaign progresses.

Graphics: The sim was published in 1998, and it shows. It rates a notch or two below Panzer Front graphics-wise, but holds up well. The multiple camera views are a good feature.

Sound:  The sound effects are very good, from the sound of your turret traversing, to your loader telling you that your next round is up.

Extras:  There are several patches that are highly recommended for improved graphics, gameplay and extra campaigns. Make sure to download and install patches 1.3 and 1.4 before starting gameplay. They are freeware and can be found at www.wargamer.com and www.tanksim.com. There are also many player created scenarios that can be downloaded at these sites.

Requirements:  Due to the age of the Sim, It will usually run well on most PCs.

This is a fine game and recommended for anybody who is a fan of Panzer Front
