Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung 502 commanded by Sturmbannfuhrer Hartrampf supported elements of the 9th Fallschirmj�ger Division in a counterattack against the Soviet bridgehead at Kurtsin near the Oder river. Driving from Frankfurt the German units met a counteroffensive by General Zhukov's forces at Sachsendorf. The German attack was brought to a halt and forced to begin a retreat which ended in the streets of Berlin. The 9th Fallschirmj�ger Division retreated to Seelow where it took part of the bitter defence of the city, and remains of the Division were also involved in the fightning in the streets of Berlin. During the counterattack 90% of the villiage of Sachsendorf was destroyed as well as the Church at Rathstock.
In Panzer Front the player is given command of two Tiger II tanks from Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung 502 aswell as a Hetzer tank destroyer. Supporting your attack are two Panther Ausf G tanks. The Soviet forces are equipped with T-34/85 tanks and, the Russian answer to the Tiger tank, JS-II tanks.
