AmeriSuites Hotel Friday 29th September



Andi,Alison,Jen,Samantha,Sharon,Shelly and myself arrived at the AmeriSuites Hotel at around 7.30pm to find collectors sat at two large tables, just talking to the people on the same table. So Andi (the noisy one as Muff calls her)(smile) said in a loud voice "sorry were a bit late, but "Dick" got us lost again, this was greeted by laughter from people who knew the story already, and by some people asking who "Dick" was. So we explained that Dick was our nickname for the GPS system we had, as it was very good at getting us lost, and telling us we had "left the route and a new route would be initiated" even though we hadnt moved off the car park!! (smile). This broke the ice and people then started to circulate round the room and chat. I had taken some sticky labels and pens, and took some to each table and suggested that we all printed a label with our name on to make it easier to know who we were talking to. A short time later everyone was wearing a name tag.

At the back of the room we have, with her back to us Joann (the Dragon Doctor) at the left side of her with his back to us is Ted her husband, to the left of him is Bill (Edies son) in white t shirt, then in the dark t shirt facing camera is Darren and last but not least trying to hide behind Joann is Kevin (smile).












As you can see people are now sitting at tables talking, and drinking soft drinks or eating munchies, whilst others have moved from tables and are circulating round talking to other collectors, finding out where everyone has come from.










Sat at the table in front of Joann and Ted is Donna in the white t shirt, then Sharon hiding behind Donna, Jen facing the camera, and Shelley with her head resting on her hand, listening intently to what is being said I have no doubt (smile).











At the back of the room on the right of the photo with her head down is Edie Overstreet (whose photos are also on here) to her right as you look at the photo is Janet her sister, and on the other side is Alison in the black skirt. Moving over to the left of the photo standing up and facing the camera is Jean Maile, to her right is her partner Brett, behind Brett's shouder is Christine (Real and Muffs right hand) and at the front seated at the table is Jen again (smile).









Me with my new look hair style and colouring, my normal brown with blonde streaks, although looking at the photo, I look to be more blonde than anything else (smile)...what do you all think to it? At the side of me is Christine, proudly wearing the prized yellow bandana that only Volunteers were going to be given to wear at Brae EdenHall, mine has pride of place in my collection.









Jeannie a USA collector and a friend of mine, also know by many for her e bay shop, where she sell our little green friends and other Pocket Dragon related goodies (dragonandthings)(smile) and Tanja a Netherlands collector in checked shirt and also a friend, and in front of them is Sharon a friend of Jeannies who travelled with Jeannie and her family to the events.









What a pleasure it was to meet Rose, one of Reals sisters, and her husband Ben. She is so like Real, warm, friendly and genuine. Speaking with them, you felt as if you had known them for years. She made everyone smile and laugh with tales from their childhood (smile). Now I wonder where she got the "gift" of being able to tell a good story from, wonder if she has been taking "lessons" from Real and Muff(smile).











Again we have Tanja from the Netherlands and Edie from Chicago...many collectors know Edie and her sister Janet, as they have attended quite a few UK events in the past. Tanja attended the event at Alexandra Palace in 2005, some of you that were there might remember seeing her. 1
