Every day, all over the world and especially here in the US, Exotic Animals are being used to entertain people and create profits for corporations large and small. While many of these animals were either bred in captivity, orphaned, injured, or seized after illegal capture, they still are being exploited. Most of these groups Do take good care of these animals. Unfortunately, some* do not. And all the revenues are frequently used to enrich the corporate pockets. What benefits accrue to those who perform??? Should not the ANIMALS benefit as well??? I do not dispute these corporate entities the right to exist, and I acknowledge their place in bringing the beauty of exotic animals to the public view. Certainly scientific research and conservation measures do occur, but I have no doubt that the primary reason these animals are maintained in captivity is their marketability.
Therefore, I am asking everyone who reads this webpage to take a few minutes and write an email or letter to those corporations and/or groups that exploit animals in such a manner. Encourage them to limit bringing in new animals. Demand that significant percentages of the profits of such animal-based shows, etc. be donated/used to address conservation and habitat concerns. Only by hearing our voices, and feeling the pinch in their wallets will these corporate entities be moved to

"Do the RIGHT THING."
