First of all I would like to say that I am not opposed to helping others. Compassionate conservativism is about one voluntarily helping out another. But, that's the key it must be voluntary of ones own free will. Thus the vehicle of this compasion must not be from the government (who generates its funds as a requirement from the people), but instead it must be from the private sector. Likewise when one wants help another it must be from a willingness rather than from expectation. To do so would equate to slavery. Many have said that this is a histironic statement due to the emotional charge of slavery. However, if you disregard the emotions of this subject, a thing that the left cling to, you will see that the two are one in the same. In both instances one is forced to provide services for another without compensation as involuntary servitude. This is clearly in violation of the constitution on under the 13th amendment where it states: "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punshment for a crime wherof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States." With that I will let the law speak for itself. |
