| This may be considered an oxymoron, but as a hardcore conservative I do not have a religion. In fact I am agnostic. I can not tell you that God doesn't exist for precisely the same reason I can't say he does exist. The simple truth is that there is no evidence either way. This is even stipulated by those of religious faith, who say "of course there is no evidence, that is why we have faith". Of course what is faith you might ask? Usually that's not a question that they easily answer, but I can sum it up with the idea that they want to beleive it so much that they actualy do. Often this also entails fear of what may come after one dies, and those of faith of the afterlife can't imagine how one can live not knowing. The problem is, is that that the fear is not so great for me to pretend I know of somthing I now nothing about. What makes one religion so special? Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Greek Mythology they all fallow in the same pattern but different beliefs. Obviously each of its fallowers believed deeply in their respective religions. They all felt certain things that could be none other than their god. The problem is at least three of the four religions stated above are wrong, they simply aren't true and likely that would apply to all four of them because there are plenty more religions that weren't mentioned. |
