Environment
The environement is an issue that has been huanting the conservatives election after election. Basically what happens is that those on the left are able to scare people into believing that those on the right are indifferent and thus will lead us into destruction of the planet. The problem is that this could not be any further from the truth. The environmental movement started with a Republican president, Teddy Roosevelt, who started creating the first national parks. It was also the fairly conservative Barry Goldwater who was a big advacate of the environment. So where does this idea of the conservatives being anti-environment come into play? It is because we don't take it to the extreme. Teddy Roosevelt was a champion of preserving natural beauty but would you seem him fighting to keep us from drilling oil out of the arctic tundra? I could see where this would be a concern in Yosemite, or Yellow Stone, but in the arctic tundra? The proposed area of development is a small fraction of one percent of the entire area. Why would we stop ourselves, especially with the ramifications being so big. We can be self dependent on fuel according to the latest projections for 30 years. This would mean we wouldn't have to mess arround dealing with the Middle East as much.

Very few people in the Middle East are respectible in turms of human rights. About a third are reasonable enough to relize that we can work together in a way in which they can prosper so that we pretend we are friends, while the other two thirds live in a culture where any foriegn person is a degenerate that has no bussiness in the area (whites aren't the only ones who ever have and ever will be racist). Are these reasonable objections on thier part, of course not. But, why fight up stream if you don't have to, because it is in our own back yard.

Even the founder of the Sierra Club is realizing the extreamism that the movement has gone.  We need to stop the Environmentalism at all cost mentality because it is destructive to our economic viability.
