II : Character Information
Name/Position: Nymph: Thalia, Nymph of Sacrifice
(Not entirely certain as to her position though...)
Civilian: Angusina
inghean Ruaidri of the Clan McCallein
Common Use: Ann Rodry (call it a nick
name, if you will)
Name Meaning: Angusina = Scots Gaelic - Singular Choice
(Note: feminine derivative of the masculine Aonghas)
inghean = Scots Gaelic - old conjunction term meaning
'daughter of'
Ruaidri = Irish Gaelic - Royal Poet
Vessy: *sigh* whats that lassie? another foriegner!
Enough! with the foriegners!
Birthdate/Age/Zodiacal Sign: (Info for host-child) October Twenty- Second,
1973/ 23 /Libra-Scorpio Cusp Numerology numbers: 7, 8, 2, 6, and 1 (complete
analysis to be found in Misc. section of Part IV, though partial bits are in the
Personality/Alter Ego section.)
Physical Details:
Hair: Coppery brown before assimilation, then copper- red. Worn cropped
short (think of a marine's high and tight).
Vessy: Marine high and tight? was the color change
magical? How short is it now? how long was it before? Whats a Marines high and
tight? Bad mental pictures here...
Dissy: As in the Marines that are part of the US Army,
dear. ^^ *ruffles Ki-chan's hair*
Vessy: Oh a Marine crew cut type
thing! *Is Canadian doesn't really know these things our army is a couple of
guys throwing the one toaster they could afford with their $27.85 annual budget,
btw America we want our toaster back!*
Eyes: Hazel
Vessy: What size? shape? eye makeup? lashes? under
tones? over tones?
Weight: 147 lbs.
Height: 5'3"
Build: A powerfully lithe appearing frame, if she was only about four
inches taller. As it is, she appears someone stocky, yet oddly so, almost as if
someone stretched a dwarf. Her shoulders are broad and her arms and legs are
noticeably muscled, with slight definition to the various groups. Her waist,
though fairly narrow, doesn't flare out into wide hips. Instead her hips are
fairly narrow themselves, not much wider than her waist, giving her an almost
masculine image. Her hands are square with short, fairly blunt fingers. She
looks like she could do a number on someone, if it came down to fists and
feet.
Style: She doesn't really have too much of a style beyond comfortable.
She would much rather sacrifice fashion to comfort any day of the week, which
lends itself to her habit of wearing sleeveless shirts, loose-fitting jeans or
slacks, and her worn tennis shoes. She does have some small concessions to
fashion when it comes to her dress clothes, but because of her build, the only
things she can really pull off with any sort of dignity tends to be men's
clothing.
Carriage: If you watch her closely, for say a day or maybe two, you'd
notice that she's very difficult to catch off guard. This could be a result of a
mild case of paranoia, but it does mean that she is very observant. She's always
looking about, though it appears to be casual most of the time. Yet, she doesn't
walk so much as stride or march. Her shoulders are nearly always thrown back and
her head is carried quite erect. There is a certain pride to her, that one
cannot help but smile slightly and nod about.
Facial Details: She bares a slight scar on the left side of her face, just
above her eye. It's about one inch in length and not very wide, though it does
part her eyebrow asymmetrically. There are two more scars on her face
corresponding with the right side. The remains of a gash along her cheekbone
that was stitched and a tear through her right ear. All three were gained when
she was ten years old and was trapped in the wreckage of the family car with the
rapidly cooling body of her father. (I could go into more detail about the
accident, but shall respectfully ask to be allowed to refrain from doing
that...) Its one of those things that could be fixed with modern cosmetic
surgery, but Angusina chose to keep the rather disfiguring injuries as way to
remember what happened that day.
Vessy: Well over all it's a good detailed description,
hair could use a bit more but overall not bad.
Blood Type: AB
Gemstone: Snakestone (A naturally occurring stone with glass-like
qualities believed by some to be the hardened saliva of adders and used to
protect against evil, very rare and incredibly difficult to find. Note: This is
not obsidian.)
Vessy: Well I kinda guessed it wasn't being as you said
it was snakestone...
Likes:
- Self-control, with complete control of herself and the form
she is inhabiting, Thalia feels as though there is nothing that could possibly
compete with her.
- Alchemy, as the sacrifice of two or more dissimilar items
to produce a third just appeals to a base part of her nature.
- Researching
things of a mystical or magical nature, though it appears to be some lingering
remnants of the soul of Angusina, Thalia continues with this odd quirk both as a
way of placating those who were close to Angusina and for the possible
assistance it may give her in finding the Tria Fata. (The last may not be
considered a like by some, but I am including it here as Thalia tends to obsess
about it.)
Dislikes:
- Discord and chaos, though she doesn't seem to mind creating
it, Thalia finds itdistinctly discomfiting to be around as it tends to impose
upon her own self-control the longer she is near it.
Dissy: *senses a battle advantage here* *snickers
eviley*
- Darkness, because of the circumstances surrounding her transition into
the other realm, Thalia suffers not only for an almost paralyzing case of
tenebraeophobia and the claustrophobia carried over from Angusina sure doesn't
help things either.
Vessy: Well maybe a few more would be nice, but they
are well written
Hobbies:
Spending copious amounts of time in dusty corners of libraries,
mainly due to Thalia's instance of 'keeping up appearances'. Randomly wandering
over to the St. Tarcisus campus and either taunting students there or causing
random acts of mischief before escaping back to JCU. Carving random objects into
figurines, this could be stone, wood, plastic, whatever she can get her
hands on, in an effort to relieve boredom and stress in the other
realm.
Vessy: Maybe you should include this carving thing into
your likes section as well, Why does she taunt the other
students?
Dissy: That's simple, she's a nymph and the JCU and St.
T's students have a vicious on-going rivalry.
Personality/Alter Ego:
Nymph: Thalia is very ambitious, active and
aggressive, which eventually led to her choice of Angusina as a host.
Self-centered and stubborn to a fault, with more than a trace of ruthlessness to
her, her brief flashes helpfulness tend to startle even those who think they
know her well, though these things tend to make her grossly impatient. She tends
to be silent, chipping away at an odd bit of stone or wood with a narrow
belt-knife, when left completely to her own devices and thoughts. She has a
little collection of sorts, figurines that she has carved of every single
creature or person that she has ever used, abused, or simply defeated within her
existence. Spotted here and there throughout the collection are oddly twisted
and malformed figures that don't at all fit in with the startling likenesses
that pervade the rest of her collection. They are carvings of people, sacrificed
to her or the gods, and made of their bones. She often can be found with one of
those strange bone carvings nestled away within a pocket near her heart like a
dear little treasure. Since her casting into the other realm, and especially
since here return to earth, she has become incredibly vicious and blood-thirsty,
far more than she ever was before. Every drop of blood sacrificed to her search
for the Tria Fata is just one more sparkle glimmering within her dark eyes and
every death is just one more fraction to her ever growing grin. Alter-ego:
Angusina was a completely awkward individual when it came to social interactions
with those native to the area, due to her coming from her home in the
relatively calm town of Pentsgarde, France to the hustle and bustle
in-your-face-ness of Rome. Her grasp of Italian was elementary at best and
down-right unintelligible at worst. Making things very difficult for Thalia,
though she does her best with what's she's got.
Vessy: Why would her hosts handle of italian be of
influence to Thalia? Despite the lack of importance to the actual character
could we maybe please have just a little more on the alter ego being as she is
pretending to be like her, You said she was awkward but was that in the Quite
shy way or bumbling idiot way? Did she have hobbies?
Mannerisms?
Dissy: Agreed, this could be much farther expanded upon
and I would love to see it done.
History:
Arising from the puddle of blood pooling beneath the altar
where lain the cooling body of young goat, the tawny skinned nymph was born in
the act of a sacrifice to the gods. Taking her first faltering steps from the
altar clad in naught but Juno's blessings and the sanguine offering of the
simple folk, she found herself gifted with a name. Thalia res Divinia.
Flourishing Sacrifice. And it was not very long before she became quite used to
the entire idea of being a minor sort of divinity. Which is probably why it tore
so fiercely at her mind when her followers began abandoning her. Her! The
illustrious Thalia! Who else would see that they made the proper preparations
for sacrifice? But then, they were not just abandoning her. They were abandoning
sacrifice altogether! She felt herself being pulled away from the earth she
loved harder with every altar destroyed, every athame melted down, every drop of
precious blood seared away, until all that remained was a single box-like thing,
which they stuffed her uncomprehending body into and hurled into the deepest pit
they could find and buried her alive. She screamed and ranted and raved for many
days, maybe even years, before she finally allowed herself to fade from the
earth that had abandoned her into the realm of mythology. But she had changed,
and most certainly not for the better. She thirsted for blood, the more the
better. And it didn't matter whose, though humans would be oh so sweet. It was
attitudes like that which started the Great War in the first place. If you asked
her, Thalia wouldn't have a clue just how it was she survived, but she did, and
somehow in the process got a little bit of rationality knocked back into that
idle-brained skull of hers. Slipping back into earth as a spirit instead of
flesh and blood was disconcerting to her order-induced brain for a time, but
then she saw something she hadn't in a long time. A young woman whose every move
screamed sacrifice to the hovering nymph. So, Thalia got closer.. and made her
an offer she couldn't refuse. Unfortunately, Thalia never did have the patience
needed to watch and make a sound decision. Posing as Angusina, or Ann as her
friends referred to her, has posed more of a problem than Thalia ever thought it
would when she first chose the woman as her host. For one the seemingly ruthless
woman, that would sacrifice anything to win, had a mousy side that carried her
deep into the nose-itching depths of the darkest corners of the library in
search of ancient tombs. And besides, for a woman that pushed beyond brutal
lengths to be the best at running and completely destroy those who raced against
her, she had a hands-down surprising number of friends. But, Thalia is a very
determined little nymph, and when Thalia wants something, Thalia gets it. Most
of the time anyway. So Thalia-as-Angusina vanishes herself away into dark, dusty
corners and hangs around laughing with people she would much rather watch
writhing in agony in a pool of their own blood. Her only consolation for awhile
was that at least Angusina didn't have a job. Until right around when the JCU
library called asking why their assistant librarian hadn't shown up for the past
three days... There were seriously days in which Thalia began to seriously
question just why exactly she had chosen Angusina.
Vessy: Uh well that was... graphic... *blinks*
Could we have a little bit of a history of the person she's pretending to be,
after all she is trying to be that person on the outside, so we need to know
where thats coming from. What happened in the accident with her father? We need
to know these things? Was he drunk? hit? what? Does she not like playing
angusina because she's quite and mousy or because she's not Thalia? and if she
doesn't like pretending so much why doesn't she just scrap the whole ego and use
the body to her makings, I mean she doesn't keep in touch with family and Thalia
doesn't like the girls friends, And why is she a ruddy foriegner? Why is
Angusina in rome anyways? There's plenty of amazing libraries and universities
in France esp. Paris or even london. Why rome?
NPC: Though Thalia doesn't like them much, Angusina did have several
friends, chief of which being her roommate, Jessica 'Jess' Turner, the short
(4'11"), husky (129lbs)redhead from the University of South Carolina, who is at
JCU on exchange from the International Business degree. Angusina's birth father,
Ruaidri mac Callein, died in an auto accident when she was ten, and though her
stepfather. Thomas Angspeak, is still alive and well, he refuses to have
anything to do with 'that blasted heathen freak' and her mother, Susan
McCallein-Angspeak, allows herself to be lead by her husband, thus they do not
deal with 'their' daughter.
Vessy: Why does Thomas call her a "blasted heathen
freak"? is she wiccan or something? 129lbs is alot less husky than 147lbs, in
fact that's a healthy weight for that height. and how did she go from having "a
hands-down surprising number of friends" to "several"? Whats your definition to
amount of friends? Is she one of those people who can walk down the hallway and
know at least 2 or 3 or does she know everybody? or does she know a couple
people in her study group and general avoids "social gatherings" like the
plague? Does her mom hate her too or is she to afraid to talk to her? or is it
she is just empathetic? MORE!
Part III: Villain Information
Special Skills: Because of the innumerable days spent refining her
talent, Thalia is particularly adept at carving figurines from any available
material through the use of nothing more than a simple knife. As Angusina was
particularly adept on the track (though almost unbelievably unapt off of it)
Thalia also enjoys almost unequalled superiority in sprinting up to 400m, though
farther than that and she rapidly begins to lose strength and speed until she
eventually collapses (only assuming continued sprinting speed).
Colors: Blue fading into green (blue-green would probably be the best
way to put it)
Symbol: A tau cross, inverted, within an orb, hollow. Latinate cross
rests above.Fuku/Costume: Dark blue slacks fitting loosely to allow unrestricted
movement. Asleeveless polo shirt in green above that. Simple sneakers, generally
ablue shade, adorn her feet and a strangely glimmering pendent formed ofa vial
filled with a red liquid hangs about her neck from a thin chain ofsome black
metal, possibly iron.
Vessy:Your writing this character shouldn't you know
whether it's iron or not?
Powers/Attacks: Sacrificial Lamb - A mad glean comes to her eye as she
whispers this phrase and readies her knife. By the time she launches herself at
her target, there is a quite wide grin on her face. (Note: I doubt this would
actually do any good against a soldier or anyone besides an average
civilian...)
Vessy: So she runs at people with a knife? Is that
really a magical-ish attack? is it like supercharged? Does she really need a
phrase for that? Couldn't she use the class "DIE FEIND" or
"AAAARGH!"?
Blood Resurgence - Thalia steps back with her left foot, thus twisting
her body slightly to the side, and draws her left hand in close to her with the
thumb cocked, first two fingers extended and the second two fingers curled
inwards. Then, she raises her right hand, palm out towards her opponent with the
thumb and first two fingers extended and the second two fingers slightly curled
(like claws), to about shoulder height. Then she thrusts forwards violently with
both hands (right arm fully extending, left arm stopping so as to remain at
about waist height)while shouting attack phrase. This causes (should it hit) a
wave of force to strike the opponent, possibly causing a restriction or even
back flow of blood within the veins.
Vessy: Ummm... okay... graphic...
Weapons: Not really worth mentioning, but Thalia always carries a knife
somewhere on her person, and this hasn't changed since she acquired Angusina as
her host. It's generally not a very large knife, only about five inches from the
end of the hilt to the tip of the blade. It tends to be a folding style pocket
knife and it is kept very, very sharp.
Vessy: Wow a chika carrying a knife at all times,
sounds more like a psycho gang bitch than anything else...
Part IV: Miscellaneous Information
Why you: Well, actually, the main
reason I'm applying is because I heard you were in need of some semi-mad players
for nymphs, which got my interest peaked, at any rate. But, that's probably not
what you wanted to hear, so I guess I'll try for the other stuff. Basically, the
'why me' would be because I'm an avid gamer/RPer who's been at the tables or
keyboard since I first learned to read way back in kindergarten. (I'm 21 now,
not five.) I am supposed to be the one running things over at the Alternate SM
TAG Writing Club and its sister the Anime/Manga TAG Writing Club, but I did a
bit too good of a job setting things up... they run themselves now more than
anything. But, anyway, I've been told I'm a fairly decent writer, and I've
always wanted a chance to get into a seriously evil character, so here I am.
Trying out for your rather cool, if I do say so myself, RPG. Well, I'll leave it
up to the heavens and the most illustrious beauties of the board, now.
Miscellaneous: I said earlier that there would be a numerological analysis
of this character here, and I always carry through on my promises so here you
go! (Note: If anyone else wants a numerological analysis of their character (or
heck, even themselves) just send me the birth date (including year of birth),
full name of character, and any nicknames or alias they might use and I'll be
able to get back to you within about a day of receiving the information.)
According to her birth date of 12/22/1973, Angusina's number of
personality is a seven, which indicates that she tends to be an original
thinker, possibly philosophical or even spiritual, though not particularly
interested in material things. She could be highly intuitive, to the point of
showing abilities that reach into the psychic, though she does often tend to be
restless with a great love of travel and the sea. However, this does come with
the strong possibility that she will be come too introverted, though through her
influences with others, she'll probably come out alright.
According to her name of Angusina inghean Ruaidri, her number of
development is an eight, which tells me that she'll show signs of rebelliousness
and unconventionality as she grows within herself, though these will most likely
be symbolized by willpower and individuality. Yet, though these traits could
bring here either sorrow or worldly success, she is also, or will become
possessed of deep and intense feeling. Unfortunately, she may often come across
as cold, and is very often misunderstood.
According to her nickname of Ann, her number of attainment is a two, which
falls under the sign of the moon. The light of the moon is a gentle one and very
passive, which tells me that Angusina hasn't been very forceful in her
achievements up to now. She has tended to prefer thought over action, and though
inventive, she's not as strong about bringing it to people's attention as a
number one personality would be. However, she has come out with great charm and
intuition from these soft struggles. Watch out for a lack of self-confidence
though, it could lead to her becoming changeable, even deceitful, as well as
over-sensitive or even depressive, though I do see her getting along quite well
with those opposite her.
Now, the number of underlying influence which is affecting Angusina is a
six, which some refer to as the number of the path between virtue and vice. It
shows her having a love for family life and possibly even domestic pursuits. She
tends to be reliable, trustworthy, and romantic over sensual. She loves beauty
in all things, and might even hold a bit of attraction herself, though she
absolutely despises discord. Watch out for obstinacy, though she does work well
with others. Yet, I have also noticed a very strong added influence in the
number one. One is the number of the sun and it personifies strength,
individualism and creativity. Born leaders tend to be this number, as do
innovators, winners, and tyrants. It is a sign of ambitions, activity, and
aggression. This influence is very self-centered, ruthless, and stubborn, though
it seems to devote much more energy and attention to its career or pursuit than
it does to relationships with others. There is also a surprising forming of the
number eleven within her number of attainment which is showing me that there has
been some form of transformation or change within her person or self within the
not to terribly long ago past.
Vessy: Hooray for
numerology!
Part V: Writing Sample
Thalia stared blankly out the living room window of the simple apartment,
her host shared with Jess Turner, as she leaned, arms dangling loosely in her
lap, against the casement. The unfinished bit of mahogany and her knife hung
limp from hands who's deft grasp had fallen slack with the setting of the sun.
That brilliant orb was in the process of sinking slowly down behind a building
before her as she watched. She still wasn't used to the city. The strange
overrun feeling she got from watching the hustling crowds of tourists scurrying
from place to place amidst the clamorous din raised by those odd contraptions
called cars. It was awkward, and she wasn't entirely sure if it was her, or some
lingering remains of the woman she had taken. She snorted softly in some secret
amusement, her eyes gazing at some far-off point in the darkening sky. It wasn't
a nice sort of amusement either, judging by the set of her lips, pressed thin
neath her aquiline nose. It was more the kind of half-maniacal snigger of the
phobic moments before being presented with the object of that fear. The
darkening of the night sky, wiping out memories of the day, casting them into
obscurity. Her rapidly degrading train of thought was suddenly interrupted by
the sudden appearance of her tow-headed roommate in her line of vision. Thalia
fell back off of the windowsill on which she had been perched, and onto the
floor of the apartment, away from the madly giggling woman hanging in the
window, with a yell more of startlement than any surprise and directed a glare
that would have shattered obsidian at the other woman as she attempted to calm
her racing heart. "What in the name of all gods and goddesses did you do *that*
for, Jessica Turner?!" Thalia finally found herself able to hiss after an
indeterminable stretch of time in which her heart simply refused to slow down.
In the entire time, Jess had not greatly slowed in her laughter, and so her
reply came in fits and starts instead of any smooth flowing. "You. Sitting
there. Couldn't help." For whatever reason, that sent her into another fit, but
it didn't take so long to calm down that time. "Sorry. I couldn't help it. And
your reaction? Priceless!" Thalia didn't even bother dignifying that with
further conversation. She simply gathered up her scattered knife and bits of
wood and stalked off to her room. That sudden iciness that flowed off of the
person she still believed to be her friend, startled Jess out of her hilarity.
"Ann! What's wrong with you lately?!" she yelled, hopping down out of the
window. "You've changed. You don't cry any more, but then you don't laugh
either." She walked over and put an arm about the taller woman's waist. "What
happened, Ann? Come on. We're friends, you can tell me anything." Thalia simply
reached down and removed Jess's arm from it's place about Thalia's waist.
Releasing it from her grasp as one might release a dead rat, Thalia continued in
her stride into her room without speaking. Upon reaching those confines, she
shoved the door shut behind her and, perhaps concededly perhaps not, right in
Jess's face. Something which quite put out the other woman. "Damn it, Ann!" she
screamed pounding on the door. "Why don't you talk to me anymore!" The door
inched open slightly, allowing Thalia view of the surprisingly hopeful look on
Jess's expression. But the words that came out of that bare inch complete killed
any hope Jess may have had.
"Because I no longer wish to speak to you,
American. Now, leave me alone!" Thalia dropped a heavy emphasis on the last word
with the slamming of the door again. Jess stepped back confusedly. What had just
happened?

Vessy:
Well It was well written but there were some overall issues that I didn't like
and large chunks were missing that could make the character that much more
distinguished. There was no balance between the personality she took over and
her own and I didn't feel she had enough of an idea of who the person was before
to pass herself off... Fairly graphic and perhaps a history on the mortals side
would be nice as well, you mention the car crash but never explain it. It could
be a major influence on the humans personality but you skip it entirely. Overall
I just didn't feel it had the charisma and flow it could have, but it's like
trying to watch a tv on a tv with bad reception during a thunderstorm. You get
the general idea, but it's very fuzzy, cut up and keeps cutting stuff
out.
Verdict: Reject,revise/Revise or die!
Dissy: I agree with ki-chan on everything, it lacks depth where it
could have more and more is most certainly a good thing as long as it doesn't
ramble off into meaningless speech which completely fogs a person's mind just
like I'm doing at this very instant. But aside from that I like the taunting of
the St. T's kids and the way she's not physically perfect (ie, strong but
ravishingly gorgeous.)
Dissy's Verdict: Revise or DIE!!!
----------------------------------------------------Final Verdict:
Reject Revise
