Name Meaning: Amara- meaning: Eternal; ethnicity: Greek   Luca- meaning: Bringer of Light; ethnicity: Italian

 

 

Her name together means Eternal bringer of Light which- in my opinion – relates to spring because spring is when the sun really starts to come out again and everything begins to flourish.

 

Birthdate and Age / Zodiacal Sign: April 7; Age: 18; Zodiac Sign: Aries

 

~Aries Info, and it qualities shown in Amara:  People under the sign of Aries tend to be more assertive and energetic.  They have very little patience and always have to have something to do.  This is true with Amara.

~Appearance: Amara is a girl of average height being 5’6” tall; she is thin and well toned at 117lbs.  She isn’t muscular just toned enough to not be flabby.  Her skin colour is a peachy complection and is very fair.  She never goes tanning so she looks pale most of the year round which allows her hair and eyes to kind of pop out.  Her hair color is naturally a deep brunette but she has it dyed a bright burgundy and lays straight at her mid back; however, she always wears it up in a ponytail with her bangs hanging down to the sides of her face.  Her eyes are of a greenish colour with flecks of hazel in them and are almond shaped and of a medium size.  Her nose is a bit small, coming down in an even slope and pointing out just a bit.  Her face is like an upside down teardrop, having a wide forehead and pointed chin.  Her bust is average being 26B and she has a soft form with minimal curves.  She has an obsession over posture so she is always standing straight. 

 

~Clothing: Her normal ensemble is a bit odd by most standers.  On a regular day she has on black bondage pants with bubblegum pink straps and stitching, her shirt is a bubblegum pink colored beater that shows a little midriff.  Her accessories include black armbands that go from her wrist to her elbow, a ball necklace, a cross necklace (V- What kind of cross? There are many different types), and six hoop earrings in each ear and a silver stud in her nose (left nostril).  Her hair scrunchy is black and her shoes are black platforms with pink accents.  She also wears her class ring, which has her birthstone (the diamond) in the center, with her school name (Romulous Public High) around the stone.  The sides feature the symbols for band and the year she graduates (1996).  And lastly she has a little black purse in which she keeps a small notebook, pens, keys, gum, candy, her cell phone (for emergencies) and her henshin item.

Gemstone: Yuksporite – it’s a rare gem found in the Kola Peninsula of Russia, it is of a yellow-rose color.  Amara likes this gem because not many people know about it and it is in one of her favorite colors.

 

 

Likes: 

 

~She likes Music because it is an emotional outlet, her favorite genres being American and European Heavy Metal from the 1980s, and American Rock.  She was exposed to these genres when she was in her early teens.  Her friend Vevinna’s older brother was into underground trading and Vevinna would often bring the albums over to her house so they could listen to them. 

 

 

~She loves her job because she is around people she likes and it’s a fun way to learn about underground bands (will explain job in history section). 

 

~She likes rain because it’s fun to walk in. 

 

~She also likes living away from home because she can show that she’s making it without her father’s help.  Her father used to baby her a lot and would somewhat spoil her.  She grew to dislike it and loves showing him that she is capable of making it on her own.

 

 

Dislikes:

 

~She dislikes people who don’t have good hygiene because, well, who does like people with bad hygiene? 

 

~She dislikes people who are narrow-minded and arrogant because of their attitudes.  She believes that all people are wonderful in their own way and wishes that people wouldn’t down others so often for their differences.

 

~She dislikes severe weather because she fears it.  She doesn’t really fear it for any particular reason – it’s just been a fear of hers since she was young

 

~She dislikes being coddled and/or worried about.  She believes that she can make it on her own and doesn’t need others to worry about her.

 

 

Hobbies: Amara’s hobbies include: driving around town, taking long walks through the rain, working, staying after school, exercising, watching television, going to pubs with her friends, seeing films, collecting dolls, and shopping.

 

 

 

Personality: Amara is a very energetic person, which is good because she has so many things to do all of the time.  She is very confident of herself and doesn’t let what others say bother her, she knows who she is in life.  She is Courageous and Adventurous always trying new things and going to new places.  She is also very optimistic and enthusiastic always pushing others to try their best and to not give up.  She is very intellectual and loves school.  She is also a hard worker; however not all of her qualities are good qualities.  She is loud and sometimes a bit too foolish.  She tends to be somewhat rude and impatient and cannot stick to any long term goals.  She is very impulsive and tends to offend to easily which drives her to become defensive or seek revenge often in a verbal way.

 

 

 

History: Amara was born at the St. Tarcisius Hospital at 2:29AM on April 7 (the day that marked the end of daylight savings time for that year).  She was a cute baby being 6lbs 9ounces and having a length of nineteen inches.  She had sparkling blue baby eyes that would soon change to their present colour.  For a moment, she was tranquil but soon her life would start to become a blur of adventure and misadventure.  She was a smart and energetic baby always smiling and laughing.  She especially loved exploring new things on her own.  Unfortunately for Amara, when she was the age of two, after an argument with her father her mother left them in the middle of the night never to return; however, this didn’t really phase the toddler.  She grew up in a loving household with her father and the occasional female visitor.  She loved her dad and he loved her and that was all that mattered.  However, her father did have his ways of over-doing it and he often spoiled her and spent too much time with her.  Then Amara hit school age so she packed her backpack and hopped on the bus to go to Romulous Public Elementary.  From the start she loved school it allowed her to learn so many new things at such a quick pace – the only problem was that there were too many other kids, and she didn’t like most of them, that is, until she met her best friend Vevina Costola.  Vevina’s family was Spanish but Vevina herself was born and raised in Rome, and she was in the same class as Amara.  Amara and Vevinna soon became the best of friends and would stay that way through each school transition and every year that they didn’t even have classes together.  Elementary school went by like a blur and Amara did exceptional work in most of her classes.  She already knew that she loved English (V- err... English? As in a second language course? Or as in Humanities, learning the mechanics and spelling and stuff... ) class but hated Science class, and that she was good in math but found it boring.  The transition to Romulous Public Jr. High was easy but she did find the classes a bit more difficult.  She loved her English still and found a new love for literature, she joined the band and played percussion, and even did drama for a year.  She tried almost every elective course that the school offered but still found Literature as her favorite, math to be boring, and Science to be dreadful.  Band was also considered a new love, this is where she met Chad DeMahno, a fellow percussionist (V- Fellow percussionist? MENTION THESE THINGS!), he had an Italian father and an English mother.  Chad and Amara hung out a lot and became close friends, Chad and Amara now share an apartment.  Finally, it was time for Amara to begin her scholastic career at Romulous Public High.  She enjoyed taking speech classes and English classes and stayed in band but mostly enjoyed the new freedoms that came with being in high school.  When she was sixteen, she got a job at the Music RePlay shop in the downtown district.  The store is a rock-based shop that sold used cds, band tee shirts, and other sorts of music stuff.  She’s been working there for two straight years and has recently been promoted to floor manager.  When she was seventeen, she had to train who is now her favorite co-worker and a close friend, Anthony Reniera.  Also when she was seventeen she moved out of her dad’s house and into an apartment with Chad, contrary to popular belief they are not dating, they’re just good friends who can afford an apartment together.  She is soon going to graduate from Romulous Public High and hopes to go onto JCU to study the arts and English literature.  She just had her awakening within the past month and it really hasn’t changed her as a person, she just feels that she does truly have a purpose and that being a senshi is a big secret which she must keep from everyone at any coast.

 

 

 

NPCs:  Michael Luca- age: 38; birthdate: November 18 – Michael is Amara’s father.  He had his baby girl when he was twenty years old.  He hasn’t been re-married since his wife left but he has had many dates.  Michael has dark brown –brownie colored- hair, which is about chin length, and he also has deep brown eyes.  He is 6’3” and is of medium build.  He has the same fair complection and peachy colored skin that Amara does.  He instilled exercise to Amara, teaching her that a good work out and healthy diet is good for a person of any age.  Michael graduated from Università degli Studi di Roma and now holds a successful management career.  Michael is usually seen wearing black dress slacks and a tuck in olive coloured dress shirt.

 

Chad Demahno- age: 19; birthdate: July 3- Chad is from an upperclass family.  His father is a well read biologist and his mother is in the field of law, but he doesn’t want to rely on them for anything as his siblings do.  He’s currently out of school and holding two jobs.  He works at a restaurant and at a bar.  He is 5’7”, which is a bit short for a guy and has short brunette hair that he gels up into a kind of spikey look  and light hazel eyes (close to the colour of honey).  He is skinny and not built at all being only 132lbs.  He has a fashion sense close to Amara’s and has been secretly in love with her since they’ve met. He usually wears black baggy pants that are adorned with zippers (one on each mid thigh in front that run horizontally, and three on the bottom back of each that run vertically) The zippers have red fabric surrounding them.  His shirt is a red tee shirt that is kind of form fitting, and he wears a black fishnet long sleeve shirt underneath this. He wears two hemp(dyed red) bracelets on his right arm.

 

Vevinna Costola- age: 18; birthdate: December 26- Vevinna is Amara’s longest and closest friend.  She practically lives at the apartment and is always there when you need a hand.  She is very loud and outgoing.  She comes from a Spanish background but was born and raised in Rome.  She too plans to go to JCU when she graduates.  Vevinna is 5’4” tall and 120lbs, she is not at all built.  She has jet black bone straight hair that goes to her upper back that she wears down and deep brown eyes that look almost black.  She usually wears plain flared midnight blue jeans and a black shirt with a rip across the upper chest that is about 5 inches in width and runs horizontally.  She also wears black armbands that are elastic and go from her wrist to her elbow.  Her ears are both triple pierced and she has her left eyebrow pierced.

 

Anthony Reniera- age: 16; birthdate: August 13- Amara met Anthony through work.  Anthony also comes from a very well off family but only got a job because the place looked like fun.  He attends St. Tarcisius Private Academy and is in the tenth grade.  Anthony is always goofing around and telling jokes, he is very much a livewire and has a very big sense of humor.  Anthony is a closet bisexual.  He has shoulder length bleach blonde hair and mint green eyes.  He is 5’10” and is well toned.  Amara also hates to admit that she does have a slight crush on the immature co-worker.  Anthony often wears baggy blue jeans and a black motorhead shirt (Motorhead being his favorite band – they are also a very European rock band).  He wears a ball necklace for accessory.

 

 

Part III: Senshi Information

 

Special Skills: Amara is good at writing and reading Literature, and playing drums.  She also has a knack for fixing electronics. She is also good with gardening.

 

 

Henshin Item: Amara’s henshin item is of a rich golden yellow color, incased in a chromatic silver(which matches her breast plate on her fuku)with her symbol in the middle in a white colour.  She carries it in her purse.

 

Transformation: "Proserpina Deus Power Make-Up!”  Amara says her henshin phrase is a determined manor, then is entangled in flower buds, when they bloom the emit light and then reveal her fuku, then her staff comes from a twisted vine of rose buds and her final pose is down on one knee holding out her staff with both hands in a horizontal position.

 

Color: A rich golden yellow (think of the crayola crayon goldenrod)

 

Symbol:

 

  (means spring and is 38:7 on the symbol.com website – it is also related to the symbol for Aries which is her Zodiac sign)

 

Fuku/Costume: Her fuku start out with the symbol on her head, which will be in gold.  The choker, collar, and skirt are of a rich golden yellow.  The choker has a charm of her symbol incased in a teardrop shaped Yuksporite gem.  The breast plate and shoulder plate are of a chromatic silver and are held by her henshin broach which is chromatic silver and rich golden yellow with her symbol in it (if I can put her symbol in it o.o;).  The skirt flaps and armbands are of white leather and the armbands have golden tassels hanging from the top of the (the part touching her elbow).  Her boots are also made of white leather and they are ankle length and have golden tassels hanging from them as well.

 

Powers/Attacks: Her attack is called Spring’s Wrath.  What happens is she yells out the attack name and the gem on her staff lights up, she lifts the staff, twirls it, and points it at the opponent shooting of a borage of yellow roses and energy.  It is a medium powered attack, able to stop an opponent for a moment or so and can be performed multiple times.  The attack is able to be dodged, but cannot be reversed.

 

Weapons: Her Weapon is a staff.  It is made from medium toned oak wood and holds a circular Yuksporite orb at the top.  It is covered in a budding vine that has yellow roses popping out in different places.  It is narrow and the only ‘branches’ on it are what incases the orb.

Part IV: Miscellaneous Information

 

Why you: My friend who is also applying showed me your site and I fell in love.  I’ve been looking for a good senshi based rpg for a while now and I think I’ve found it.  I’ve had about five years experience at being a player in role-play groups ranging from senshi based to digimon based to mythological based.  I hope my character is what you want Proserpina to be and I hope to hear my results soon (if it’s possible) ‘cause like Amara I am a very anxious person.

 

Miscellaneous: Uhm, not really – except if you ever need to talk to me about my character or just in general.  I have two AIM names.  Metallica Grrl86, and Bry Zee86.

 

 

Part V: The Writing Sample

 

Amara was speeding like a mad man, she was running late for work again.  She grumbled and turned up the radio as she began yelling at other drivers on the road.  She hit 70 and swerved around  all of the people yelling and flicking off anyone who dared not to move out of her way.  ‘Damn that Chad, if he hadn’t stopped me to talk about that stupid party tomorrow night I would be there already,’ she thought to herself whilst drumming on the steering wheel waiting for the person in front of her to move.  She couldn’t go around them because there were to many people coming from the other side.  She laid on her horn until the old woman moved her car.  Finally, she was at work.  Tonight she was working with Anthony and he was steamed that she wasn’t there on time.

 

            “Where the hell were you?!  You’re forty-five minutes late, miss floor manager.” Anthony said in a demanding and angry tone.

 

            “I was late ‘cause my room-mate had to talk to me about some dumb party, but hey why do you care?” She replied in an aggravated fashion.

 

            “I care because he had like fifteen people here all trying o check out at once while you were talking about the party.”

 

            “Oh well, can’t change it now, can we?  Get over it.”

 

            “Fine.”

 

            “Good.” And with that Amara slammed the door to the back room to set down her sweater and her purse.  She went to the store’s main stereo system in popped in one of Diamond Head disks they had lying around.  Amara then sighed and walked back into the main room.  Anthony was stocking new stuff so Amara decided to change the front display.

 

            “Who should go in the window this month?” Amara asked Anthony.

 

            “Uhh… how about Motorhead… we havn’t done them in a long time.” He replied in a much more normal tone.

 

            “Good idea” Amara cleared the Sweet Savage display from the front window and began to stock the stuff back where they belong then she grabbed some Motorhead Shirts, stickers, and a poster to hang in the front window.  The shop was empty as usual so it wasn’t long before Anthony began cracking jokes.

 

            “Hey Amara,” Anthony asked, “Why did the blonde read a carton of orange juice for three hours?”

 

            Amara rolled her eyes and replied without emphasis, “I don’t know.”

 

            “Because it said Concentrate!” Anthony began laughing and Amara just rolled her eyes at his immaturity again.  “Helpless” came over the speakers and Amara sang it to herself.  It was by far her favorite Diamond Head song.  Anthony could over hear her.

 

            “Wow… you’re voice is pretty….,” He snickered,”…pretty bad!”  He began to laugh again and Amara just ignored him.  She continued to fix the display and after about two hours she had it completed. 

 

            The store had about seven customers all night and then it was time to close.  Amara went into the back room and turned everything off, grabbed her stuff and went home. 

 

Once she got home she changed into her night clothes and watched a movie with Chad.  They talked about their days and the party that was coming up.  Amara didn’t make it through the movie, she ended up falling asleep.  Chad turned off the movie and covered her with a blanket, then went to bed himself.
