Part II - Character Information

Character Position - Cyane, Nymph of Servant-hood

Character Name - Casimir <Cass,Casi> Saoirse

Character Name Meaning - 'To Destroy the Greatness of Freedom'

Casimir <Cass-eh-mier> is an English name meaning 'to destroy greatness', derived from the Slavic 'Kazic' meaning 'to destroy' and 'Meri' 'great, famous'. Saoirse <Say-o-erse> is an Irish name meaning 'freedom'. I checked both the url your site suggested and an alternate etymology page < http://behindthename.com >, however their meanings for Casimir were different. Oxygen gave 'Famous destroyer' as the meaning, while Behind the Name gave 'To Destroy greatness', I suppose they mean something of the same thing, sort of. As to the pronunciations, neither gave an exact pronunciation guide, so I merely had to assume.

Dissy: Ooo, nice research! *steals new name source site addy and puts it in her secret stash*

Birthdate/Age/Zodiac Sign - October 3rd, 20 years old, Libra. Casi shares October 3rd as a birthdate, with her namesake, St. Casimir of Poland. Unfortunately I was unable to find any specific dates relating to Cyane in any way, any stories or mentions of her were brief and vague.

Physical Details -

Hair Description – Casi's hair is cut short in a layered bob style, cut quite high in the back, with varying lengths surrounding her face. Her natural hair color is ash-blonde but once she was free of her parents 'rules of living under my roof' she dyed it the vibrant purple it is today, just like Cyane's. <note – The picture <casimir.jpg> I gave to display this was originally drawn to depict an elf. Her ears aren't that pointy it was just the best picture showing off the hair style.>

Eye Color - Casi's eyes are a honey brown color, an almost freakish shade of hazel. The glance usually radiating from these startling eyes is of interest, though they always seem to have an overcast of idleness to them.

Dissy: Mmmm……idleness……*crickets chirp*……what…? *cuts short her Homer Simpson impression in embarrassment*

Build - Casi's 5'4" build may be slim and slender, but it is toned as well. Weighing in at 126 pounds, her graceful curves are deceitful to the strength and agility she possesses.

Skin - Her skin is a deep bronze color, a striven for hue, that took many hours of sun bathing to achieve. Her complexion, aside from a small sprinkling of freckles across her nose, is often in well-kept condition, marred every once in a blue moon when she becomes stressed.

Details - Casi's facial features are all in proportion, except for her eyes which dominate her face in a startling manner. Her gaze however, is rivaled only by her smile, which happens to be more of a wry smirk. Her nails are constantly at peak condition, manicured and well maintained, usually painted in vivid colors. Each of her ears are pierced once, usually sporting large silver hoops, or dangling pewter chain mail earrings.

Voice - Casi speaks at an Alto pitch, smooth, level, and always calm. Rare is it to hear her shrill. With a well numbered vocabulary, she is quite articulate, and knows her way around a sentence. As Cyane, her words become sharper, her manner curter, often times dripping with sarcasm.

Carriage - Casi's carriage is one of excellent grace, fluid and smooth in her movements. One almost never finds her tripping or stumbling. Her walk is a long defined stride, the pace slightly faster than that of the average joe. Her posture is impeccable; having been taught well the importance of posture and how to achieve it.

Daily Appearance - On a daily basis Casi is well groomed and dressed in comfortable but upscale <ish> attire, normally donning a pair of long jeans, black heeled boots, and a dark plum blouse. However, when it comes to affairs of higher caliber, parties, galas, dates and the like, her style is not to be surpassed. Casi prefers more classic styles, to the common fashion of 'what's in', and often stands out for her more traditional wardrobe.

Dissy: She’s a bit…um…perfect physically, I feel like she should be a model. does this have anything to do with the stories you found about her, and if so, you should probably say that.
Vessy: I agree she's a little too... perfect... makes me think android out to kill the world or something...*laughs* anyways... I am not seeing servanthood in there...

Bloodtype: AB, really focusing on the proud, almost arrogant characteristic supposed to coincide with this bloodtype. <Sadly, I know -very- little about bloodtypes>

Vessy: http://www.geocities.com/rpg_factory/library/bloodtype.html <- here is my wonderful page of bloodtype traits for future referance,

Gemstone: Opal is the modern and traditional birthstone for October and is presumed to increase psychic ability, and bring love. Casi rather likes the gem for the latter ability, and wears an opal pendant just in case it does work.

Likes:

Romance Novels - Yes, sadly Casi does have an unhealthy interest in the world of Romance Novels. Unhealthy in that she is undeniably addicted, with various series, collections, and authors of them ranging her bookshelf. Drawn to these books is Casi's romantic imagination, which has a lust for well, lust.

Attention - Casi, being very nearly an only child <see history>, is quite used to lavish amounts of attention being given to her. As a child she was showered with gifts, and the habit of fishing for compliments became deeply ingrained in her. Perhaps it is her own fault for letting it happen, but she really can't be blamed, it was the way she was brought up. And so despite the fact that she no longer has the attention of 'Daddy', to this day she cannot help but enjoy the limelight.

Loki - Casi has perhaps a fantasized crush for the Norse God, Loki, mainly because she feels strongly connected to him. In Norse Myth, Loki was chained to a rock for eternity by Odin for his misdeeds, and after spending countless centuries chained to a rock, Cyane can't help but sympathize with him.

Dislikes:

Injustice - Casi has a certain dislike for injustice and with good cause too. Haunted often by the memory of Persephone's abduction by Pluto has caused her much discomfort. And while perhaps is could be considered silly as she is now going about killing people, she can't help but detest brutes. Casi actually plans to make a career out of her dislike, and hopes to become a lawyer.

Small spaces- Casi's fear of confinement is her worst plague. Her fear of small dark spaces is rooted in her punishment as a nymph. Having spent years chained to a rock in a small cave, her claustrophobia is her greatest weakness and worst fear.

Hobbies:

Playing Billiards - Casi developed a love of Billiards from her father. A grand pool player himself, he taught her everything he knew, and Casi has become quite the expert, deceptively so. If her winning gains her something she wants, Casi has no qualms using every trick she knows.

Laziness – A well developed hobby for Casi, sitting around doing nothing. Even as a child, she had the strange ability to sit still for hours at a time and do absolutely nothing. This is still a much favored past-time of hers.

Personality: Cyane has a mentality of laziness, this isn't to say she's unenthusiastic but in her eyes most events are seen as a chore. It's not that she doesn't like killing people to find out if they're immortal, it's just work and therefore she doesn't -want- to kill people to find out if they're immortal. Cyane loathes getting her hands dirty, and will avoid it at all costs if possible, this is why she actually enjoys working as a team with the other Nymphs, it allows her more opportunities to pass work off. But, however easy-going her mind may be, when a sudden fit of rage comes upon her, she can be spurred to do anything. Cyane's greatest strength is her ability to unite those she works with and mollify internal situations. If tempers flare and disagreements arise, Cyane can be depended on to come up with the compromise. Her weaknesses, sadly, outnumber her abilities. Cyane's unreliability to perform any task to the best of her abilities is her worst weakness, however it is closely followed by her gullible nature. If you are able to tell a lie with a straight face, Cyane will believe you, unfailingly, and this unfortunately gets her into much trouble. She can be convinced of almost any lie, if it's told well.

Alter Ego: Casi's personality allows Cyane to display some of her softer qualities, and those elements that were initially of her nature as a Nymph. With a very romantic frame of mind, a sociable disposition, and a diplomatic nature, it's hard for anyone to dislike Casi. She's one of those people that make you feel better for having been with them. Casi's fault however is her self-indulgent ways. But she can hardly be blamed for the way she was raised. In order to maintain a more convincing persona, Casi also holds a part-time job as a go-fer at a small law firm.

Dissy: Um…wow….that’s really short. from your descriptions given in the physical traits section, I though this would be a lot longer…did you have more? it kinda seems to just stop in the middle of a sentence.
Vessy: She just doesn't seem very servantile or... evil in my opinion. Now I'm not saying she should be totally evil but she just doesn't seem that at all. She also seems much more spoiled than drudge like... I'm not getting servantile at all...I really really love that touch of gullability that is to great! Its an excellent example of a flaw that could be well executed! Props for that!

History: Cyane was a Naiad, a water nymph, born of the god Jupiter and a naiad lover he took <which one? Sorry, dry humor>. Ashamed by the unwanted pregnancy, her mother fled into solitude, bore Cyane and then raised her in secret. However Juno would have her revenge for Jupiter's misbehavior and killed Cyane's mother. Cyane, in her early life found protection and friendship in the Goddess Persephone, and was present when Pluto took Persephone. She cried much for her friend, so much that her body became liquid and she became one with the waterway she was named for, the Cyane Spring. In this form, she tried to keep Pluto from escaping back to the underworld, however she was unsuccessful.

Cyane became angry with the Gods, Pluto for taking Persephone for 6 months of the year <winter>, and the rest of the divinity for letting him. And when the Gods fame with mankind came about, it only fueled her scorn. She came to detest humans for their infatuation with the Gods, in her eyes the Gods were just as imperfect as anyone else was.

And then the day came that Cyane happened upon a human giving sacrifice to Pluto. In her anger towards the man, and Pluto, she killed the human in a fit of rage. For this, Jupiter sent her to the other realm, punishing her to an eternity, chained in a subterranean cave.

In the centuries she spent there, Cyane gradually lost the seething rage she felt towards mankind and the Gods. Now she longed only for good clean revenge. She had killed her first in blind wrath; she would kill again in pure malice.

Her return to earth was seen as an opportunity for revenge, this had been planned and decided upon, but she became distracted with the life she missed. Finding herself the body of a child both clever and pretty, who excelled on all bases, academically, socially, and financially, she frittered time in enjoying what this world had to offer. In fact it took her quite some time before she actually did anything about seeking the Tria Fata. However, once she had her head straight and was no longer distracted by shiny objects, she set about her work with will.

The child, whom she had taken, was of English origin, whom had grown up in London. Her father was an Irishman, and worked as a partner of the P&O Line <Pacific and Oriental>; an English shipping company most famous for it's Oil Tankers. He had married to an older woman, a schoolteacher from London. His new wife, was in fact a widow with a 3-year-old child. Casi's half brother was much older than her, 7 years to be exact, and as soon as he was old enough to join, he dropped out of school and joined the British Navy. He never had much to do with his family, he disliked his stepfather and because of his lack of interest in much of anything, the Navy seemed a simple option of getting away. Casi spent most of her childhood as 'daddy's little girl', and because of the wealth her family became acquainted with, she spent much of her time getting what she wanted as well. From the very start Casi was a clever child, and school was never a problem for her, she wasn't a genius but she did remarkably well without trying very hard. She was schooled in London through highschool and then decided upon USR for her college years. She is currently enrolled at USR as a boarding student, and is taking classes in Law.

Dissy: Erm…you kinda dropped out again in the middle of a sentence. I really liked where you were going with this character, but as stated before, we aren’t taking any immigrants unless it’s a REALLY good application with a REALLY good reason for being a foreigner. So, yes, please change that, and maybe send a compeleted version of the history and personality.
Vessy: Hmm well that history seems a little bit more like it but I'm still not getting a real driving force of why she would turn evil... I mean she just seems too nice and a little bit dull witted (gullible) to be evil and coniving...

NPCs: I gave Cyane no family NPC's, simply because I do not plan on including them in her story, they exist certainly, but their mentions, if any will be very minor. I made no friend NPC's because she's not the kind of person I imagine having a best friend, a clique certainly, but never anyone of certain note.

Vessy: Despite their no consequence we still would like to have a small description of the influences on her life as they give us a bit more of an inkling of where she is coming from. What kind of home life she would have had or what kind of friends she hangs out with. So despite their non involvement they still add to the larger picture.

Part III: Villain Information

Special Skills:

Soul Discernment – This ability is slightly of the extraordinary side, and is used to help her achieve her second attack <stated below>. By creating and maintaining eye contact with a person she can read or examine their psyche. This doesn't exactly mean she knows everything about them from beginning to end, and it's not really mind reading, more of a voluntary empathy reading. From it she can attain certain feelings, aspirations, and thoughts they have and are closely linked with.

Vessy: so a form of ESP? Whats the background on this and does it affect her civilian life?

Playing Billiards – I already stated this in her hobbies, but since she's so good at it I figure it ought to go into her special skills as well.

Vessy: how is it useful? and is it improved in her nymph form? is it influenced by her realm of power?

Empathy – This skill is actually more of a mundane ability that anything magical. Cyane, especially in the guise of Casi has a distinct ability to understand and sympathize. It's because of this ability, and her disgust for injustice that have driven Casi to a career as a lawyer.

Dissy: Nymphs in general are supposed to be really anti-humanity and empathy is kinda the opposite.
Vessy: Doesn't this relate to the first item in this list? / basically is the first item in the list?

Peacemaking – Cyane is a peacemaker, and an expert at compromise and solutions, however this -noble- ability does not always have such a -noble- reasoning behind it. Cyane has come to understand that by creating unity, she is often ensuring her own good.

Vessy: This just altogether seems to... nice...

Henshin Item: Always powered up ^.^

Transformation: Doesn't get one ~.~

Colors: Aubergine <Darkish Purple color>

Vessy: *dances around to the jingle from the Sears commercial that used that a couple years back*

Symbol: The circle with the arrow positioned diagonally upward <Mars symbol> is supposedly the symbol for a slave owner, which is the only influence to Cyane I could find.

Fuku/Costume: The chains of her former imprisonment, and the tattered scraps of cloth of what once was a stola, serve as Cyane's Fuku. White linen hangs from her body in strips, the shredded and ripped cloth salvaged only enough to cover her in the slightest of modesty. A heavy metal shackle, a single link of chain hanging from her left, three links from her right, binds each wrist. It's obvious that the shackles at times pain her, and though they are her power source, she loathes them.

Powers/Attacks:

Attack 1 – Shackle Bound – This is Cyane's 'easiest' attack. It takes only a minimal amount of her strength, allowing her to repeat it, it is able to ensnare more than one target, and though fended off easily, is not so easily dodged. When called upon by the phrase a length of 'chain' appears in her hands comprised of energy that hardens to a powered metal <energized iron basically>. Gripping the chain by its middle, she swings it only once before it's released on her opponent. If her foe is captured by the chain it will encircle them and bind them with the jolt of energy it was powered with, giving them a brief snap, crackle, pop. The chain will also continue to hold them until they can find such a way to cut the chain or have someone free them. This also gives Cyane an escape route when in need.

Attack 2 – Slaved to Thy Psyche – This attack is the hardest for Cyane to manage because in order to do so, she must first have direct eye contact with her opponent. The eyes are the windows to the soul, and for Cyane to manage this she must be able to see her victim's soul. The only way to avoid this attack is to avoid looking Cyane in the eyes. Once she has steady eye contact, which she manages to keep by her special skill <Stated above>, she can call upon her attack. This attack has no flashy lights, no big moves, if anything it's a psychological command. Once she has spoken her phrase there's a pause before she breaks contact. From the attack the victim will become paranoid and introverted, indulged into the deepest realms of their minds. The attack taps into the id of the person's subconscious and to put it bluntly, takes away their sanity. This attack isn't always a bad thing, sometimes it will tap into their past, their dreams, but yes it can tap into their fears and their guilt's. In short they become deranged into seeing what their subconscious is constantly thinking of, and in order to break free they have to figure out that it isn't real, either for themselves or through the conviction of another. This attack is Cyane's favorite as it allows her time to study their life force, and depending on their ramblings, learn strengths or weaknesses. However, it does greatly deplete her power levels, in addition to how hard it is to achieve and that it can only be used upon one person.

Part IV: Miscellaneous Information

Why you: Okay well in the order of your inquisitions. Why me? Because I'm a damn good role-player. I don't say that in an arrogant way, I just mean, I love to do this, everything about it, plain and simple. Why this character? Well first off because I spent 7 months getting this profile to the point where I -really- liked it. By now, I love Cyane; I have to say I really like the way she turned out, even if you disagree. And third, Why this game? Well there are a plethora of Sailor Moon RPG's out there, but it's -really- hard to find a singular one that has a nice, solid, -good- plot to it, like this one does. That's my plug, I thank you.

Miscellaneous: I actually want to apologize for the 'personality/alter-ego' section being so short. I wasn't quite sure how much I could embellish it, and tried to make it as lengthy as I could, while still being clear. I will continue to try and make it longer, probably even long after I send this, but I'm afraid I've hit a block as to how much more I can explain it without making a muddle of it.

Also, if I misused the name of Persephone, I apologize for that too. I've seen Persephone used when spoken of in Greek and Roman Mythology, but I've also seen the name Proserpine floating about. I was unsure which is technically correct, but since Persephone is the more commonly known I decided to use that.

And lastly, I recognize the fact that USR is a conservative school, and Casi's hair color isn't, but I wasn't quite sure if it would be an issue or not. If it is I didn't intend to make a situation. But the picture I gave for Cyane as a nymph actually influenced the character as a whole, and in that picture her hair is purple. I have absolutely no idea how to edit a picture and have it turn out decent, so I decided to let it influence the character even more by deciding her hair color.

Part V: The Writing Sample

Cyane groaned in pain, hanging her head as she tried to ignore the metal biting into her skin, that hideous metal that chafed and scratched, scratched and chafed. Her wrists were swollen, covered in sores, her legs ached to the bone, and if it weren't for the infernal immortality given to her race, she would have given up her life long ago. Lifting her head she blew a violet lock from her face as a familiar tear traced it's way down her cheek. Her gaze drifted over the dark space that surrounded her. She had memorized every stone, and shadow, and even the sound of the water dripping from the stalactites was distant to her ears. Cyane sobbed, repeating in her mind the dark oaths of revenge she had made long ago. Images of her vengeance were all her mind could see anymore, each picture more graphic and torrid than the last. Cyane's agony would be repaid tenfold on those who had imprisoned her.

Casi sat up in bed with a gasp; she was covered in cold sweat, trembling at the nightmares of her former captivity, which played to her each night. She glanced about her dorm room, her eyes coming to rest on the clock beside her bed. She blinked once to reassure her of the time, then sat up, slipping from beneath the covers. Class started in an hour and for once Casi insisted on a cup of coffee and a slice of toast. Breakfast was one activity she did not normally engage in. Giving a yawn, Casi made for the shower, her thoughts drifting from her nightly dreams to the activities of her day.

"Large, Caramel Macchiato, light on the foam, with a straw, and no Caramel. Thanks Cass."

Casi nodded dutifully to the order, jotting it down in a miniature notebook she carried when working. As she exited the office she stopped, blinking at the order she had been given. Caramel Macchiato…with no Caramel…So that's an Espresso with a little foamed milk? She rolled her eyes, heaving a sigh. Sometimes she wondered if they were testing her patience, just testing her, or if they were just stupid. It had to be one of the two former, no one was -that- idiotic. Perhaps being a go-fer for a crowd of stuffy lawyers wasn't the most glamorous job. Running around doing menial jobs like filing, copying, and beverage orders certainly didn't sound like much of a go-somewhere position. But it paid, and perhaps by getting in good now, once she was through with college, a job here might not be so unattainable. Besides, she only worked for the firm on weekdays for about two hours, making it unbearably easy.

As Casi stepped onto the sidewalk she breathed a sigh of relief. She always felt cramped in that building, full of cubicles and offices and those horrible florescent lights. Turning to the left she brushed past people as she made for the coffee shop down the street. However, her mind preoccupied with the warm afternoon and how lovely the sky looked, she failed to notice the cyclist that sped toward her. As the moped and rider whizzed by, Casi was heard to swear, loudly. However she did manage to save herself from a disgraceful 'side-walk moment'. With a disgruntled growl she turned again on her way, muttering dire threats upon the race of mankind. If one had walked alongside Casi, and listened quite carefully one could have made out most of the curses that were thrown down, however at this point in the day it was to much work to go about carrying any of them out. No, it suited her much more to wait till tomorrow or the next day perhaps, or maybe even wait for Saturday…

Dissy: I’m really not getting either nymph or servant hood from the civilian part of the app, more like Aquilus with more extreme self-centered-ness. You also say that she hates humanity for worshiping Pluto, and yet she wants to help them in their legal affairs by being a lawyer. You have a good start here, it just feels like you want to be playing a soldier and chose nymph because we’d be quicker to accept you. Maybe you do want to apply as a soldier instead with this character. Again I like, but it doesn’t work for a nymph character for me.

Dissy’s Verdict: Reject, Revise

Vessy: I really liked this app and I thought she was an absolute darling but I just was not getting evil and not getting servantile from her human ego. Her human form just seems a little spoiled-ish rich kid and a little too nice to scream servantile... You did good work on the research and your writing sample was awesome! But I think that to make her a fit her power sphere you could maybe make her just a little more bitter... I don't know... as strange as it sounds she's just too... normal.

MAKE HER LESS NORMAL!
*cough*

Vessy's Verdict: REVISE OR DIE a horrible death of severe and shear torturous NORMAL-NESS!

Final Verdict: REVISE OR DIE!
