Here is the update for this week.  My neighbor is almost finished with his VW bus.  I suspect I'll have to give him a pick slip, when he wins the race.  Bummer.
As for my car....it is still making progress, but slowly.  At this point I've been told there is a delay of about a week. Not really a surprise to me, as most paint jobs seem to end up this way.  So it looks like it won't make it to Vegas .... again.  Here is a shot of the team working on the Driver's side.  After this, and some more little details are finished, then it is primer day.  When it is painted (2 stage), the base coat goes on, in one or more layers.  This is followed in less than 30 minutes by the clear-coat.  Then wet sanding, and as many clear coats that I'm willing to pay for, wet sanding between layers.
The shop gets the occasional unusual car.  Do you know what a Zimmer Quick Silver is ?  Can you tell what it is based upon ?  Sure you can, take a good look.
Next we have the "300 Hurst".  This is a Factory original car.  Few were made, and all of this color and trim.  The hood and trunk are in fiberglass, as it came from the factory.  Anyone know the history of this model ?
