Pantera Alignment

As I finish the restoration project I have reached the time to get my car aligned.  Naturally Ive have asked others in my club (Pantera Club or Northern California) for recommendations. Two local shops were mentioned by 9 of the 10 respondents.  Krause Racing in Walnut Creek, and Custom Alignment in Mt. View.  Another Pantera member had already chosen Custom Alignment, and Greg Jacobs suggested I go along to review their work on his car, and take some images.  Greg needed more than just a basic alignment (Dont we all ?).  The basic configuration on his 1972 consists of stock springs and shocks, with the spring spacers, stock brakes, stock wheels (7 + 8), with Euro TAs.
Greg had just added the adjustable front and rear sway bars from Cory Gehling, Collectors Choice, and this package needed some tweaking to fit.  He came by my house the day before, for some troubleshooting time. I pointed out that his front swaybar was making slight contact with his tie rod on the right side.  The sway bars were also making some clunking noises.  His steering rack didnt have the shim kit, and there is also some play in the wheel.  This is a bit more work than a typical alignment.  We made some adjustments for clearance, and decided to make good use of rack time at the shop the following day.  So that was the plan.  What follows is some information from Custom Alignment themselves, to give you some background on the shop.  Ive only edited their advertisement for brevity.  Then I close with description of Gregs experience.
In the large image above, Shop Owner Joe Silva to the left, Greg Jacobs center, and hiding behind the rack, doing real work is Kevin Patten.  It was obvious that Kevin had worked on quite a few Panteras, as well as Joe Silva. It is good to use a shop that has performed work on our cars. This is also the shop that a local Pantera vendor brings his business.
