Statement On The Use Of Psychoactive Plants |
||||
| 1. Panphilosism first recognizes and promotes the human right to consensually, responsibly and reverential use naturally occurring psychoactive plants for the purpose of achieving altered states of consciousness that are a part of an individual's spiritual expression. 2. That individual has the responsibility to use psychoactive plants in a safe and accountable way. Anyone who is not a legal adult should not use these substances. A current knowledge of one's health risks, if any, posed by using these substances is essential. A safe and supportive atmosphere is also recommended. In all cases, one needs knowledge of and respect for the importance of what is being undertaken. 3. Regarding the legality of using these psychoactive plants in their natural form, Panphilosism does not advocate breaking the law but rather changing it. There are a number of groups working for the decriminalization and recognition of psychoactive plant use as an individual's right to choose, and this is an end to which Panphilosism agrees. |
