Affirmations and Statements

You may use these statements by reading them, saying them aloud and posting them where they will be reminders to you. You become what you believe yourself to be, and affirmations are a way or "re-creating" yourself in a direction that you choose.

You are Blessed and a Blessing

 Keep this in mind always. Let compassion and loving-kindness manifest naturally in your daily life. Blessing is an action motivated by the intention to interact positively with the universe. Through blessing, we are lovingly engaged with all beings. Make it a practice to bless yourself and at least one other being a day. In time, every step and every gesture can become a blessing…

 You are an Instrument Designed for a Higher Purpose

 Do not be deceived by appearances (the illusions of the physical world) or you will become lost and your energy dissipated. As an interactive being, you have the freedom and responsibility to create yourself moment to moment. The light inside of you is constant and only disappears when you turn from it.

 Chart Your Own Course

 Observe, question, investigate…then act with courage and conviction to move in a direction that brings the highest good for yourself and all beings around and within you. Expand your paradigm to include the universe.

A total being, integrated fully in the universal life force, thinks, speaks, and acts upon the truth. They neither deceive nor are they deceived. They do not take advantage of the weakness of another, as animals do. Instead they strengthen the weak, raise up the fallen, light up the darkness and lead through healing words and simple example. They are trustworthy and have no secrets. They are self-controlled and balanced, possessing all emotions and possessed by none. They are neither self-loathing nor self-deluded, free from craving the satisfaction of impulses and desires that can never be achieved. Their pain is pain and their pleasure is pleasure, experienced simply and directly, then released. They see every passing moment as an opportunity to give love, freedom, joy, peace and understanding to the universe. Their meditation is as steady as the sun and their wisdom as bright as the full moon. They mend broken relationships, give service to those in need, educated the unlearned, explore and fall more in love every day with the universe inside and outside of their skin. Their fears are acknowledged and released. Their instincts are under control. Truly blessed is the land where such ones dwell.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember
what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all
persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to the dull and
ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of
trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals and everywhere life is full of
heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and
disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the
things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline be gentle to yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars and you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is
unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful
world.

The universe is living, loving and intelligent. It is constantly offering you opportunities to change and challenges to grow. What you do with these is up to you.

Rites, rituals and religions can be valuable tools to alter your ego-programming. Please remember, however, these are a means to an end, which should be your re-integration with the universe. Be ready to abandon them when that goal is reached.

As un-awakened human beings, we judge the universe based on our circumstances. The truth is that the universe is unfolding according to its own system of cycles and patterns. We find our peace in being part of the process.

There are the differences between information, knowledge and wisdom. Information comes from investigation, knowledge comes from experience and wisdom comes from synergistic union with the universe.

Every day, try to teach something and try to learn something. When you listen, learn…When you talk, teach…

To be of real service to others, stop seeing people how you want them to be and see them as they are.

There is nothing more or less to being enlightened than experiencing our existence with crystal clear awareness moment by moment. In this way all truth reveals itself.

Doesn’t measure the sky by the clouds…Measure it by the stars.

Rather than trying to make the universe look like us, we should endeavor to make ourselves reflect the universe.

If you can see not just the tree, but the mind behind the tree, the creativity, the desire to live and grow, then every tree, every flower, every leaf, every living being, becomes a work of art. Then you will perceive the universal consciousness.

In nature, everything has a purpose. There is nothing random or haphazard. Even the destructiveness of a forest fire or an exploding star serve to sow the seeds of new life.
