Tut Systems, Inc delivers industry content processing and distribution products for deploying next-generation video and IP services over broadband networks. IntelliPOP is the full-service, next generation VDSL solution to provide guaranteed quality of bandwidth across multiple applications running over a single pair of telephone wires, supporting speeds of up to 26 Mbps per line.IntelliPOPcan manage bandwidth and/or VLAN tags by application, by device, by protocol type, or by user. The IntelliPOP system includes the TUT 5212/24, a 12/24-port service gateway, the TUT 5101, 5102, 5112, 5113, a full featured Service Access Unit for terminating services at the subscriber side and the Tut Management System (TMS). Service Gateway and Access Unit are connected through VDSL line. 

Worked as a software engineer in a team environment (supervisor reporting, developer communication, SQA communication, bug reporting, bug fixing, documentation, etc.)

 

Designed and implemented image upgrade code of IntelliPOP 5113:

  • Message communication with the hardware device (3 way handshake)

  • User interface implementation

  • Work under embedded RTOS(Nucleus), SnmpV2/V3 environment

Reviewed and maintained IGMP multicasting protocol code in IntelliPOP 5000

 

Designed and implemented Command Line Interface (CLI) using RapidControl to control IntelliPOP:

  • Quickly mastered and maintained the third party code RapidControl, SnmpV2/V3

  • Restructured the RapidControl code to support various products

  • Developed automation tool for CLI acceptance test and CLI stress test using Expect Language

  • Designed and implemented CLI of OC3

  • Improved the performance of CLI in cpe side significantly

  • Added new feature requested by users, bug fixing and maintained CLI code

  • Assisted others to use CLI

 

Evaluated the quality of the Tut Systems Intellipop 5000:

  • Tested various functions in IntelliPOP product, such as: VLAN, QOS, Multicasting, ATM, DHCP, Nat, Bridging/Routing, Syslog, Save/Restore Configuration, etc.

  • Tested performance of Ethernet Wanlet card and T1 card

  • Wrote test plan for the above tests, filed and validated bugs through bug tracking system

  • Use SNMPc and SimpleTester to test the mib objects

  • Reviewed, and maintained UI automated test tools coding by perl, expect, Tcl/Tk, and Java

  • Communicate bugs to developers, customer support, and management, as well as to customers via the Release Notes 

E valuated the quality of the Freegate Firewall Product:

  • Tested various functions of the product, such as: Ping, DNS, DHCP, Packet Filtering, NAT, log,  Web Restricting, VPN, Intranet, DMZ addresses, Routes, etc.
