Have you ever wished that someone would write a fic where Snape has a kitten that is actually Harry as an animagus? Or perhaps you want to know how someone else would write a scenario of your choosing. Authors this is your chance to step out of your usual style and write something different (potentially). This challenge is open to everyone. Even beginning writers are encouraged to claim fics and give it a go. If you have any questions or suggestions for this challenge (or amendments additions to the rules), please post to the group. So, here’s your chance to get your dream fic written and to make someone’s fic dream come true (Sorry, no guarantees that your request will be chosen).
Request Phase: April 26-May 6, 2005 (see requests here)

Subject:
Fic request
Requester’s Name: chips_challenge2
Characters: Harry Potter and Severus Snape
Primary Genre: Angst
Secondary Genre: none
Maximum rating: anything G-R
Scenario: Harry starts acting out his nightmares/visions from Voldemort’s
POV (ex – he curses people etc.) and thus becomes a danger to everyone
around him. Harry has to be locked up while he sleeping near Snape’s room
(so that there is someone there to help him at night if necessary.) Snape helps
Harry fic (you decide if they get along or not.)
Keep in mind:
1. Fics will be one shots (no less than 1000 words max length up to the author)
2. In order for this challenge to work people must request *and* claim fics.
You do not have to claim a fic if you request one (nor do you have to request
one if you claim one) but since not all requests will probably be filled, the
more people who claim the better.
3. Primary gene is always angst; secondary genre can be anything or absent.
4. Nothing over R rating (no NC-17).
5. Try not to repeat someone else’s request.
6. If you claim a fic, please make sure you have time to write it. Claiming
a fic means that no one else can claim it. If something comes up and you know
you won’t be able to fulfill your claim, post a message to the group to
give someone else a chance to claim it.
Claiming
Phase: May 7- May 14, 2005
(claims made before this date will not be honored)
I’ll make a list of all the requests for the files section. Go through
the list of requests and pick one to write. You can claim more than one fic,
but make sure you have time to write them all. Post
your claim to the group.
Subject: Fic claim
Then copy/paste the entire request. Don’t pick a request that someone else has already claimed. I’ll try to keep claims updated in the files section. Unclaimed requests will go into the files section plot bunny section. Make a claim rescue a bunny!
Writing Phase: May 15 (or whenever your claim is verified) – June 19, 2005
Write on!
Posting Phase: June 20- June 30, 2005
Post your fic
to the files section and to the group as a message. Inclued the entire request
including the requester's name in the heading or author's notes of your fic.
Fics may be posted to any additional archives the author chooses after June
30, 2005.
