SPECIAL ISSUES CONFERENCE 2000 IN PANHANDLE ISSUE...
Welcome to Issues 2000 in the Florida in the Beautiful Panhandle Division!

My Fellow Circle K'ers,  I have taken this opportunity to write you to welcome you to the most exciting Issues Conference in the history of Circle K. Also, I would like to also extend my most warmest welcome to you. Perhaps this is your first time in my Panhandle Division. Perhaps you're thinking, is this still Florida. Sandestin Resort is one of the best resorts in the beautiful beaches of the Florida Panhandle. These emerald green waters will inspire you to "Face the Issues". would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very happy and productive Summer, 2000. We the Panhandle Division have many challenges to meet. We are a Division that was "withering in the vines", but now we are headed for Greatness. The Panhandle Division shall soar like an Eagle Again! I am proud to say that I've had the wonderful opportunity to meet many of you thoughout this Great Division. I am excited about what we can do between Now and the Fall. As many of you already know, the Florida District Board voted unanimously to hold the Florida District Issues Conference in the Panhandle in Beautiful Sandestin, Florida at the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort. The Historic Conference, the first of its kind in the Florida Panhandle, will be held November 3-5, 2000. So mark your calendars now! My goal is 300 members in attendance! I want to show the Florida District what the Panhandle is made out of! Let us show the Florida District that the Panhandle is worth our Salt. Together we can make this Issues Conference a total success and make the Florida District proud of their vote to bring us the first Convention in the 42 year history of Circle K and perhaps bring us another convention!

My Fellow Panhandle, my goal is for the Panhandle to come into the Issues Conference 2000 with atleast six (6) Clubs. One new Charter- University of West Florida, FAMU back to Charter strength, FSU to 50 members and just about ready to charter at North Florida Community College, Chipola Community College, Gulf Coast Community College, Tallahassee Community College and Pensacola Junior College. I would love for you'all to come up and make the announcement at Issues that you're ready for a Charter. Remember 20 is the minimum but 50 to 100 is ideal!!!

UWF Charter, bring FAMU to  Charter strength,  and perhaps  Charter five other clubs  in  the  Panhandle.   My targets are; Tallahassee Com- munity  College  (where  this past Saturday we put up 110 +/- flyers trying to recruit a leadership team) Ockaloosa-Walton Community College at Niceville, FL(where we shall strike on April 1  during  the  Kiwanis Zone Rally)  North Florida Com- munity College  (which  I  have tentatively  scheduled  for the April 15th weekend) GulfCoastCommunityCollege at Panama City,  and Pensacola Junior Community College,  (which Pen- sacola Downtown Kiwanis has an interest in helping charter) and  Chipola Junior Community College  at  Marianna.   The stakes  are  high, and I ask you to help set the Agenda. "The Panhandle Shall Rise Again and Soar Like an Eagle!" Catch the  CKI  Fever Today!  Service- Leadership and Fellowship are the order of the Day  in  the  Panhandle!   Catch the CKI Fever!   Tell a friend about CKI,   Display your club logo and wear your pins!!!   Together we shall make Panhandle No. 1.

On the Western Front

President Kim Dewey  and  the  Board  of Officers  of  the  University of  West  Florida are  doing   an   awesome  job  at   Pensacola. They  are  working  close  with  their Kiwanis Club  and  are closer to Chartering.  UWF is already an officially registered Club at UWF.

Also  Samantha Jackson  will  be  in Pensa- cola  until  the  weekend  of  April  15th. She  has  been working with the  Kiwanis  there in an  effort to  Charter  Pensacola Junior Com- munity College. Samantha attended the past  Florida  District  Convention.   She  was also  instrumental  in  the  UWF  Chapter  as  well.

State of the Division

On April 1st, I will be sworn-in as your Lt Gov. But since I'm beginning work early, I  need to know your goals.  Please  email me your goals,  so  I can  forward  them  to our Gov-Elect Jeremy Riehl. I also plan to visit every  CKI  Chapter  before  taking  office. The current status of the Division is strong but we must double or triple  our  efforts  in the coming  year. FSU is at nearly 40 mem- bers;  FAMU  is  at  about 10-15 members; UWF is about 10-15 members. By this time next year I hope for at least 6 Chapters in the Panhandle! Please join me in "Catching the CKI Fever!" (as the KiwanisGov says)

In the Horizon: the Emerald Coast

Panama City?  What  are  we  going  to  do? Well  there  are two potential  sites   there! Gulf-Coast Community College (which years ago  already  had  a  strong  Chapter)   and FSU-Panama City Campus. I need one if not two  Presidents  and  Board  of  Officers  for Panama City.  Imagine folks, here is why you should help me charter them. We could have Service  Projects and  Socials  with them  and You know  what, we are at Panama City, FL. Spring  Break  Central.  So Join me now and help  us  get  them  off  the  Ground today !!!

Goals for the Month of April
