Chocolate Hills
The chocolate Hills are most likely the most popular tourist attraction in Bohol. They are perfectly
formed hills, 30 and 50 metres high and look like something your child may draw if asked. There are about 1268 hills.
They get the name 'chocolate' due to the end of the dry season they turn chocolatly brown (because of rain), during the dry
season they are caked in lush green grass.
The way these beautiful hills are formed is still unknown till this day.
Geologists have yet full discovered how they where formed. The most realistic theory is that they were created when land was underwater
and when it became dry land the weather erroded the limestone on top of the impermeable layer of clay (The Hills).
