| YOUTH COUNCIL MINUTES
Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 Attendance Kelly Scott, Lacie Durand, Erica Clarno, Shera Stear, Mark Bevill, Bryce Graham, Meghan Steelman, Jake Sneath, Tyler Morrell, Becky Bargfrede, Allison Zemple, Michael Miller, Phil George, and Mark Graham Devotional "Who's Really in Control" Old Business Office Elections The youth nominated people for the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary. Three people were nominated. These are the final results: President: Michael Miller Vice President: Erica Clarno Secretary: Lacie Durand Teams New members from youth council were added to teams. Here is a standing list of people in the different teams: Welcoming: Alliosn Zemple, Shera Stear Worship: Jake Sneath, Mark Bevill, Bryce Graham, Kelly Scott, Lacie Durand MIA: Michael Miller, Erica Clarno, Meghan Steelman, Tyler Morrell * We mentioned a list of people we need to encourage back to youth group* GTWO: Erica Clarno, Becky Bargfrede, Kevin Pula T-Shirts/ Hoodies Report Erica Clarno and Becky Bargfrede brought in designs and slogans. We discussed which designs we liked best and the potential costs. Kelly Scott will give Erica and Becky information on where to get cheaper t-shirts. It seems group is in favor of the "Hooked on Jesus" design and the "In the Beginning..." one. Missions According to Phil George, we collected $21 the last Sunday we met to give to DENUM. We will continue this DENUM offering until the end of February. Lenten Offering Phil George menioned giving our lenten offering to either 1 Life Revolution or Heifer Internationl. 1 Life Revolution gives needed animals, blankets, etc. to Zambia. Last fall, we donated goats and blankets to them. Heifer International helps fight global hungar. There was 1 vote for Heifer, 7 votes for 1 Life, and 4 votes for both the organizations. New Business 30 Hour Famine This is a project supported by World Vision. Members collect pledges before fasting. All in favor of persuing it, except Tyler Morrell who is still uneasy about 30 hours with no food! Igniting Ministries Proposal Phil George discussed what this proposal was all about. It is to provide churches with tools to get the word out and invite more people into the ministry. 100% agreement to proposal. Phil George typed up a letter to delegates showing our support over the issue. Everyone signed the letter. Fun Stuff In past people have mentioned painting three walls in youth room. Putting the big FISH in the room has been an idea, too. Someone needs to contact trustees for permission. Shera Stear says she will take responsibility for the wall pictures and decorations. Becky Bargfrede recommends doing rock climbing at Upper Limits. Kevin Pula will contact Upper Limits for information Erica Clarno recommends doing a Mystery Dinner. Next Meeting We decided to meet Sunday, March 14, 2004 from 11:30 to 12:30(ish) for our next meeting. |
