Seven Jr. High youth, along with 3 adults headed to Toledo, OH the week of
for a time of working together and helping the homeless in Toledo, OH.

Toledo Service Project is an organization that helps homeless people get housing and
to find jobs.  Each day provided us with a different opportunity to serve Christ..

We started and ended each day with a time of worship and prayer in the
chapel.

DAY 1 - Last night, we celebrated Amber's 13th birthday. It was a surprise party. What a great way to start a trip!  Today, part of our group worked at the Cherry Street Mission.  We picked up trash around the property and then sorted clothes in their Free Store.  The other group did yard work around some of TSP properties.

DAY 2 - Part of the group worked at the Cherry Street Mission, while the other part painted a foyer in an apartment building.  We ended by the day by going out for ice cream.  Thanks Susie.

DAY 3 - Everyone worked at the Cherry Street Mission.  A good part of the day was spent organinzing all of the mens pants in the clothes store.  Do you know how many Jr. Highers can fit into a 64 inch waist?  In the afternoon a family came to pick up supplies for her new home.  While mom picked stuff out, we played simon says with her children.

DAY 4 - This morning we worked at a day care center.  The first thing we did was clean the walls and all of the toys.  Some of us played with the kids, while Tyler, Amber and Susie worked on a bulletin board.  Everyone had a great time.  In the afternoon, we went and heard a motivational speaker talk about choices.  We finished the day by having dinner at Tony Paco's.  A resturant made famous by MASH.

DAY 5 - We spent the day at Cedar Point!  The only sad part was that the new roller coaster was not working.  We eneded the day by having an awesome worship service infront of the altar in the sanctuary.  Everyone felt so close to Jesus that night, that we decided to have a slumber party infront of the altar.  It was something that none of us will ever forget !

At the end of the week we came of with the following
statements regarding our trip to Toledo.
