Take me home!
Back to the Peanut Gallery

prom was PROM-TASTIC (despite some minor prom-blems heh heh heh)
Date:
May 31st 2003
Feeling...: groggy
Listening to: everything about five seconds after it happens (delayed reactions being the theme of the past 24 hours)
Excitement brewing over: MORE SLEEP!
Concerned about: not getting enough time to sleep (since I need to be alert tomorrow to finish my law ISP)
People/things that made me smile: my bed when I got home this afternoon
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): So prom is officially over...what a night!! The Liberty Grand was absolutely beautiful, and the rain held off enough for pretty good weather in the evening...the food was pretty good, the dancing (whatever there was time left for anyway heh heh heh) was fun and seeing everyone all decked out was a trip. The after-party was alright, the planning was less than great but in the end I think it's safe to say we all had an amazing time :D Now the only thing missing is more SLEEP.

Oh goodness, I can't wait to see the video footage...

ooh la la

Feeling...: tired. (I'm still waking up after drama class...stupid BORING SEMINARS!!)
Listening to: "Ooh La La" by The Faces
Excitement brewing over: P-R-O-M!!!
Concerned about: a certain..."friend"...dropping by on her monthly visit RIGHT BEFORE PROM DAMN IT!!
People/things that made me smile: having an exceptionally good hair day today...if this trend continues...heyyyyy...also, my new celly :D
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): I can't believe prom is only four days away!!! Everything's set, and it's building up to be a good time :) We're all gonna look so good, I know it's clichd but this is gonna be a night to remember...oH gOoDnEsS I'm sO eXcItEd!!!!

Another exciting bit of news: I got a cell phone on Saturday :D Adamently agaisnt them as I previously was, my mom insisted and I've now realized that they're not so bad after all. At ten cents an IM, they're rather enjoyable even...let it be known, however, that as I'm on a Pay-As-You-Go plan I don't intend to use the phone much more often than for the occasional game of Mobile Hawk. (heh heh heh...let the addiction begin...)

Continuing the epic battle between myself and Greyhound, Carly and I went down to the station on Friday to see what could be done. I was all set to verbally vent some anger...instead they gave me a pen and an "INCIDENT" (isn't that such a pretty little sugar-coated word for "f***-up?) form to fill out . Said they would send it to the smaller company that handles the shorter trips. Hmph. So now all that's left to do is to wait for an answer of some sort. *shakes fist angrily* You haven't heard the last of me, Greyhound!

so long, krappy kitchens...

Feeling...: tired but relaxed :)
Listening to: mp3s...enjoying them so much more cause I have dial-up and had to suffer to get them heh heh heh
Excitement brewing over: P-R-O-M!!!
Concerned about: ummmmmmmm....*thinking*...
People/things that made me smile: my puppy being super-cute today, more so than usual for some reason :D
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): Got back from the camping trip yesterday!! It was awesome...well some parts more than others *ahem* :P Still, overall it was great - next thing to start planning is a road trip to Montreal ;)

I'm pissed off at Greyhound, though...we took the bus there and were supposed to take it back - except the stupid thing never came! This was after checking no less than five times that the bus was indeed coming AND having a schedule in my hands saying that it was supposed to come. Hmph. I'm so totally demanding compensation...who knows, maybe that trip to Montreal could be subsidized (well, partially...?) If nothing else this is good practise for my eventual law career :D

Oh, one last thing: I got a 9/10 on my law ISP thesis posting! Worried about it for a while, cause I had no idea what I was doing or even what my thesis would BE for a long time...but it turned out pretty damn well in the end :) Go ME.

Feeling...: ordinary. I dunno. excited about camping and prom etc.etc.etc. obviously but otherwise...meh
Listening to: the sound of these disgustingly old computers in the library at A.Y. as they struggle to stay on without spontaneosly combusting
Excitement brewing over: going grocery shopping with carly, for some geezer-ish reason :D
Concerned about: my law thesis posting. How can one stupid little thing be worth 10% of my final mark??
People/things that made me smile: denise finding the boy of her *dreams*...hope you don't mind, dindin, if I live vicariously through you *sigh* heh heh heh
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): The girls who did the exchange program this year got back last Wednesday and they were in French class this morning. I felt so old all of a sudden. Like a parent who used to be cool but suddenly realizes it's her child's time to shine and she's more of a has-been. Had a sudden strong urge to drop everything and catch the next plane to Cannes to soak up some rays and come back with hundreds of stories to tell, too. I can't believe it's been an entire year since I got back from France, it feels like it was so recent. It also seems strange that everything there is so far away from me here...when you're on a plane you don't realize the distance you've travelled, it's like you close your eyes and you're there. I dunno, maybe it's just the craving for a baguette talking but I'd like to go back during my year off sometime.

Meanwhile, back to things on the homefront...had a shopping-filled weekend, and have satiated my thirst for summer clothes for a while (though I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm done for the SEASON. come on now, why don't I just go and join a convent...heh heh heh) Got shoes for prom (heeled, surprisingly, but they're not that bad after all...just need to practise walking in them or else i'm TOTALLY gonna fall flat on my face...), a bunch of tanks, a cute khaki skirt ("khaki" is such a funny word, it's like the sound my dog makes when he's choking on a kibble LOL) and a pair of ORANGE SHOES!! (which also means I'm all set for Hallowe'en this October - two bird with one stone, not baaaaaad.....)

Ronald McDonald, meet Lisa Ray...

Feeling...: a little lightheaded, from the dye fumes
Listening to: the birds chirping outside...damn I wish I had a BB gun... :P
Excitement brewing over: CAMPING!! two more weeks...
Concerned about: my law ISP thesis posting...due next week and I haven't got a clue what to write...
People/things that made me smile: the beautiful weather...garage sale season is officially here *yay* :D
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): Herbal Essences hair dye was on sale yesterday so I thought "meh, why not" and bought a color I thought would look good..."intense copper" - seemed nice on the box. Unfortunately I left it in for too long and it came out the color of COPPER - like a new penny, not just a tinge of red like I'd expected (think: Ronald McDonald, maybe a little darker)...Anyway I had mixed feelings about it and then finally realized it'd clash pretty awfully with my prom dress so I had to re-dye it a dark brown shade today. I'm feeling a little nauseous from the dye fumes but it's a nice reddish-brown color now so it's all good. I've decided if I do dye it again, it'll be back to my natural dark brown color and then enough with the chemicals. Maybe some highlights but that's it.
