Take me home!
Back to the Peanut Gallery

walkin' on sunshine (and brand-new birkenstocks :D)

Feeling...: full for the first time today...that's the crappy thing about being home all the time, you starve all day cause there's nothing to eat and then binge at dinner cause you haven't seen food for an unhealthy number of hours...
Listening to: "Gold in Them Hills" by Ron Sexsmith...such a beautiful song :)
Excitement brewing over: commencement tomorrow!! Except there's supposed to be a huge thunderstorm...so long, outdoor reception *sigh*
Concerned about: uh...I dunno, maybe that the weather will stay like this for the rest of the summer? I couldn't stand that, I need 24 degrees and breezy!!
People/things that made me smile: shade. And air conditioning.
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): I got a pair of Birkenstocks yesterday - they've got to be THE most comfortable shoes in the WORLD. My feet feel better in them than barefoot...I'm THIS close to sleeping in them heh heh heh...

Anyway I can't believe how disgusting the weather's been lately. It's only JUNE for goodness' sake. We're not supposed to have smog advisories until August, or July at least. *sigh* I think I'm gonna move to Alaska. At least it hasn't been that humid though, that's even worse.

Exam review day was last Tuesday and I got all my marks...got an 80% on my Law exam (phew!!) and my French exam actually brought my final mark UP so I'm doing goooooooood...nice thought that my current grade 12 average will get me into pretty much any university I want - *yay* go ME :D

Feeling...: unreal...I can't believe I'm DONE
Listening to: a cd I burned in grade 9...back when N*SYNC wasn't all N*JUSTIN
Excitement brewing over: REALLY going out for the first time in a while...and without ISPs and tests and exams weighing me down subconciously
Concerned about: when exactly IS virtual school starting? I can't seem to find anyone (by teacher included...) who knows
People/things that made me smile: well it's only 10:30 a.m. but so far, the feeling of waking up this morning because I WANTED TO and not cause of school
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): Just a short entry today...I wrote both my exams for this semester yesterday - French and Law...I felt like doing cartwheels as I walked out of Law (except I never figured out how to bring my feet over my head without injuring some part of myself so it would have ruined the moment if I actually had...) It was so...liberating. For more than a year now I don't have to wake up every morning to the same old busy work that rewards you more for parroting and memorization than actually thinking. No more coming home in the evenings and still knowing that there's a ton of stuff to be done before so-and-so date and more stuff to do for the next day and ........i'm freeeeeeeeeeeee :D

happy 18th, DinDin:) ..now who wants to bring me some soup?

Feeling...: siiiiiiiick...it was only a matter of time...
Listening to: "Let Me Go" by Cake (so cute..I want a guy to write a song about ME like this heh heh heh)
Excitement brewing over: Ottawa trip coming up...yay Canada!
Concerned about: sneezing all over my exams on Thursday, thus smearing all my answers together to make them illegible
People/things that made me smile: those brief moments during which my nose cleared up (a gift from the gods, no doubt) and I could breathe relatively inaudibly
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): Spent the entire day alternating between sitting and blowing my nose, occasionally multitasking and doing both at the same time (go me!) Got a looooooot of reading done (about as much as Carly does in five minutes! I know, I know, I impress myself sometimes...) and also saw a MuchMusic special called "The Diary of Christina Aguilera". What I simply don't understand about girls like her is how they can walk around their house in front of their family wearing next to nothing. You know that excuse of a skirt she was wearing in the video for "Dirrty"? She was joking around with her seven-year-old brother wearing that and a tank top her boobs were about to fall out of. It's one thing to skank it out with your friends or something (can't say I advocate it but..it doesn't have as much shock value) but in front of your FAMILY? That's just taking things to a whole new level of UGH. They were watching her rehearse before a performance with the "Pussycat Dolls" - ...enough said. Her brother's gonna grow up to be a big bag of hormones, just watch. It's disturbing that the purest form of white trash can make it SO BIG (in the program they showed her family planning and shopping for a party, spending about $1000 on PIRATE DECORATIONS) while my good, quality mitten-puppet entertainment goes unrecognized. Hmph.

the barn's burnt down...now I can see the moon

Feeling...: more relaxed than I have for weeks
Listening to: some Pearl Jam CDs I borrowed from my sister
Excitement brewing over: absolutely nothing...in that that's what I'm excited about doing :)
Concerned about: um...waking up and realizing the OAC year has been brought back, maybe?
People/things that made me smile: sitting in my backyard doing aaaaaabsolutely nothing :)
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): SUMMER BREAK IS HERE!! (screw exams I'm already celebrating!!) I can't even describe how long I've been waiting for this...It's not even like the usual "can't wait till summer's here" because this time, it's not just two months of time off - this marks the beginning of over a year of - well, of anything but high school. I can't help it, since about halfway thru first semester of grade 12 I've been feeling like I'm sick of everything about high school...Maybe I overdid it in grade 11, experienced everything there was to do and then grade 12 was nothing really special...anyway it's over and I think the only thing I'll miss is the "Hall Crew" - spending time with everyone at lunch and laughing over the silliest things...Carly, DinDin, Rocky, JoJo, Maggaggie, Chash and Julia, here's to you and all the good times ;)

"close but kind of meatless, like actors who play Jesus in movies of the week" (isn't that a great line?)

Feeling...: hungry. Damn it, when's dinner already?
Listening to: "Uninvited" by Alanis Morissette...that song sends chills down my spine, I'm not quite sure why...
Excitement brewing over: yearbooks tomorrow!! My guess is we'll have...oh I dunno, SIX pictures of us at the wall this year
Concerned about: the amount of work there is to do in the next week... :S
People/things that made me smile: "GOBBLE GOBBLE"!! I'm gonna miss Mr Humphry next year..lol
Additional witty comments (heh heh heh): It's got to be one of the most embarassing things ever when you're sitting on the bus and you notice someone *noticing you*, so you look up to read some signs or something - don't want to seem desperate, come on now - and after a couple of seconds realize that you're staring at one of those obnoxious "SEX FOR LIFE" ads. I'm SURE it's restored confidence to men around the country, I'm GLAD it's helped thousands of people...but advertising a letter from a 70-year-old saying he now feels like a "frisky 20-year-old" is just going TOO FAR...

Yech.

Anyway school's almost over and I can't wait to get the hell out!! Last year I couldn't understand why so many of the graduates were saying the same thing... until through experience I realized that by now you're just so sick of everyone telling you you're practically an adult and then giving you retarded assignments like drawing pictures and making posters and writing 600-word reflections on "how drama makes you feel" MAKE IT STOP!!

*Calm...I am calm...*
