I am now working as Instructor in Computer Science Deparment in JSS Polytechnic for the Physically Handicapped, Mysore. (For information about the Polytechnic visit, http://www.jsspph.org) I have prepared two softwares for use by the office in the college. The first software looks after the admission process of students for the current accadmeic year, generates various merit lists, after admission reports. The second one is the Hall Ticket generation program, which generates hall-tickets of all students who has appeared for the examinations. Now, I am developing another software for Pay roll Management which generates employee pay slips, pay lists, etc. As a pass time hobby, I have developed a habit of writing technical and non-technical articles. Most of it have got published in the http://www.vistahunt.com. I was doing freelancing job also, during my B.Sc.(IT). At that time, I have done a couple of projects for Besent School, Managalore. I have also prepared some projects to B,E. students also. Prior to freelancing, I have worked as a programmer and also as a team member of quality assurance team in Excelsoft Technologies, Hootaglly Industrial Area, Mysore for a period of 1.5 years from at the end of 2000. Prior to work in Excelsoft Technologies, Mysore, I started my career, by working in JSSPPH from 1998 for the period of about 2.5 years.
Projects undertaken as Programmer:
As a Lab Assistant: I was very lucky to be picked up for assisting the project, American Sign Language Dictionary, which was done using HTML, which won a prize in the State Level Do It Yourself Exhibition. Assisted in developing a project in Visual Basic 5.0, called On Screen Keyboard. This project was similar to that of one which is found in Windows 2000, XP. Assisted in the project called Student Information System. The backend used was MS-Access and Frontend was in Visual Basic 5.0. Assisted in the project named Payroll System, for the students. The project was developed using Visual Basic 5.0 as front end and MS-Access as backend. My first assisted project was in Turbo C 2.0. IBM PC-Tutor was so challenging for me, as it contained very lengthy codes. I took it as a challenge and assisted the students in completing the project in time for their examination. The project was developed on MS-DOS platform, developed using C graphics. Apart from assiting students, I was doing installation/reinstallation of softwares like Windows 95, Windows 98, MS-Office 97, Visual Studio, Oracle. I also assited in yearly student admission process by debugging and correcting programs which were written earlier in FoxPro. |

About Other Tools |

In the field of computer science, to survive, one should know additional programming concepts, operating systems, languages, tools. Otherwise, it is difficult to remain in this field. New concepts, operating systems, languages and tools keep introduced themselves in this field. We should be ready to learn and improve the knowledge of such powerful concepts cum tools. Though it takes time to learn, adjust ourselves to new concepts, I have learnt many tools, on my own, through books, accessing help information etc. which I have mentioned here. In my freetime, I try to learn more and more, there by keep upgrading my knowledge. The concepts, operating systems, languages, tools which I have learnt so far are, Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, MS-DOS 6.22, Unix [Basics], Linux [Basics]. Web Related: Active Server Pages (ASP), Java Script, Cold Fusion Markup Language (CFML) [Basics], Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Microsoft Front Page 2000. Programming Languages: Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, Microsoft Visual C++ [Basics], Turbo C++ 3.0, Java [Basics]. Databases: ORACLE 8.0 (SQL Plus, connecting front end through ODBC), Microsoft Access 2003 (ODBC), DBASE+ Office Related Softwares: Microsoft Office 2003, Adobe PageMaker 6.5, Lotus 123, Word Star 7.0 Graphics Related Softwares: Adobe Photoshop 7.0, Corel Draw [Basics] Others: Baraha 7.0, Crystal Reports 6.0, Sheridian Data Widgets, Nero CD-Writing software, Download Acclerator Plus. Marked with this color are the tools that I use oftenly. [Basics] indicates that, I know only the basics of that concept or operating system or tool or language. |

About Myself |

I was born at Calicut, on 24th August 1975 at around 9:45 A.M. There was forceps injury on my head, as doctors had to pull out the baby using the instrument. The injury made me Cerebral Palsied (Athetoid) person. I had delayed walking, talking etc. Now, I am independent, which means I can walk, talk like normal person. But, still you can make out the disability to some extent. My father is from Trikarpur, Kannur Dist., Kerala, and my mother is from Udupi, Karnataka. She too was working in Syndicate Bank before marriage. Our mother tongue is Konkani. Ours is a middle class family. I had my primary education till 4th standard in St. Cycilis Convent, Udupi. Then, my parents shifted to Mysore, because I had to undergo speech therapy at the All India Institute of Speech & Hearing, Mysore. I studied in Bharathi Stree Samaj, Mysore up to 7th standard. I was a student of Chinmaya Vidyalaya for 8th standard. My parents decided to move out of Mysore, after the 8th. I completed my 10th in Milagres English Medium High School, Kallianpur. After passing SSLC in First class, in the 1992 Annual Examinations which was a turning point in my life, I joined Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering in C.P.C. (Govt) Polytechnic, Mysore. I successfully completed it in 1999. I joined for BSC(IT) during 2004 and completed the same in 2006 obtaining A-grade in the final semester examinations. About my food, I like fish fry, fish curry (Sea Fish), Prawns (Both Fry and Curry, even the dry prawns) as my favorite dish. I like to play chess, carom, like to hear music, and like to watch T.V. I know English, Kannada, Hindi, Konkani Languages. Among T.V. Channels, I like to watch Udaya T.V. and E.TV (Kannada), ESPN, Star Sports, Ten Sports, Zee Kannada. Some times, I like other channels also. Reading books is my another hobby. I am a regular subscriber of PC-Quest, a computer monthly magazine published by Cyber Media. I also read "Sudha" a Kannada weekly magazine. |

I have two softwares published in PC-Quest CD's [Oct. 03, Aug. 03]. For viewing the softwares please click on You made It menu item and select the programs. (Programs: Quiz Master, Alerts) The Quiz Master is based on popular game show on star plus, Kaun Banega Crorepathi. Alerts is a program meant for laptops. But, you can use this program on a Desktop computer also. It has got two seperate modules. One is for entry of alerts. Another meant for displaying the alerts. For example, if you have got a major appointment fixed for tommorrow, what you can do is, add an alert about having meeting and shutdown the computer at the end of the day. When you switch on the computer, immediately after completion of booting process, the program gives you alert, depending on the appointments fixed for the day. I have received the Certificate of Appreciation by the Editor, PCQuest, Cyber Media CD-Team for the same. I have also contributed program codes for http://www.vbcode.com. You can view my submitted code, by searching for "Recordset paging" and "CSV" or "Comma Seperated Values" or just "Comma".
