Eagle

An average teenage boy
Joe just wanted to fit in
A stranger in a strange new town
He did what the others said was in
And slipped the acid under his tongue
The night grew late
The party grew old
Soon the others forgot about Joe
They werent around when his drug kicked in
When he had learned to fly
The wings just suddenly appeared
Light beautiful and fast
But they werent really there

The acid still took away all of his
Average teenage cares
The temporarily relief of all his pain
In exchange the image of Joe as a
Beautiful bird, an Eagle
Gliding to the top of the apartment complex
Joe was ready to spread his wings
A low crouch was
His final jump
Joes golden wings failed him
Lying on the ground was not an Eagle
Just another teenage boy
Deceived
Joe tripped on acid
