Happy Birthday

Vinny!

Vinny just turned 5 in January. He's the little grey & silver one on the right.  Bella's right beside him trying to get at that birthday cake, and that's me in the middle. 

For those of you wondering if ferrets like birthday cake... Bella certainly does, but I don't let her have it, because it'll ruin her girlish figure.

For us, Vinny's birthday was a real celebration.  This past fall, he was diagnosed with cancer, and unfortunately, the growth is too large to remove without serious risk.

We're just truly grateful that he's stil with us, and other than a few bald spots, he's still enjoying his life, driving Bella Crazy!

The World's Most Loveable Ferrets!

This is sweet little Bella. 
Little Princess,Pick-me-up-but-only-for-a-minute Bella.
When I first met her, she had a light brown shawl around her shoulders, and a little bit of brown on the end of her tail. 
Well, one winter she went white and never looked back!
Blondes do have more fun!

Bella

Vinny is a gentle, and patient boy.
I once made the mistake of taking him to a 9 year old girls' soccer game... of course he became the immediate centre of attention.
He's charming. He can't help it.  Chicks dig him.
Each and every girl on the team absolutely had to pet and cuddle him. Without a peep or a nip, he endured the gauntlet, and when it was all over, he yawned and went to sleep in my arms.

Vinny

Since the first day they met, Vinny has been after Bella.  Where ever she goes, he's there.  What ever she does, he tries to do it first. One of his greatest joys is sniffing her butt, and chewing on her ears.
His other favorite past-time...Shoes ...and Socks.

Being a little whitey, Bella has no hearing.  She's not completely albino, and I'm not saying that all albino's necessarily have health problems, but it just so happens that this little whitey is deaf.  It doesn't seem to bother her, though the only disadvantage it gives her, is that she can't hear Vinny when he sneaks up on her. 

She's 5 1/2 years old now, and in the last little while she's started to bump into things on a regular basis.  Some say she's losing her sight, but I think she's just more focussed on where her nose is at.

When she's not bumping into walls, she can generally be found curled up in a nice warm, comfortable place to sleep.

When you look this good, you have to give up something...
