| Brand New News So, everyone knows by now that Russell and Meg Ryan have broken up, that is old news, but no one is quite sure who he is dating now. Some think that he is dating Nicole Kidman and while I think he is a better choice for her than Tom Cruise it remains to be seen if her and Russell are more than just friends. On the movie side of his life, he has been getting terrific reviews for a beautiful mind, a Golden Globe nomination, and people are saying that he has a very good chance of not only snagging an Academy Award nomination but of taking home the statue a second year in a row. | Russell Crowe was born in Wellington New Zealand on April 7th 1964 to Alex and Jocelyn Crowe, He spent much of his childhood on movie and television sets where his parents worked as caterers. He made his acting debut on an Australian t.v. show at the age of six. Much of his work has been critically acclaimed in Australia and in the U.S. for the films L.A. Confidential, The Insider, for which he recieved an Academy Award nomination, and for his most recent release, the box office smash Gladiator. Look for the upcoming Proof of Life with his current squeeze, Meg Ryan and Flora Plum, co-starring Claire Danes and directed by his friend Jodie Foster.
