Turkish Government Breaches Human Rights
While we support the demonstration by over 150 refugees belonging to northern Iraq Group on 13 December 2005, we strongly condemn the action taken by the Turkish Authorities against the just demands of the above.
The atrocious conditions which over 1200 men, women and children have had to endure for the past four years just in order to receive a small degree of safety and security and any respect for human rights is already well documented.
The attack on peaceful demonstrators many of whom were children is a total disrespect and violation of the International Human Rights which the Turkish Government is a signatory to.
We request that all those who promote the cause of human rights and humanity join us in condemnation of this criminal act by the Turkish police and help us to support to protect all those who are in desperate need of the most basic human rights.
We strongly demand that UNHCR carry out its duty in protecting of all those who are in desperate need of their protection and carries out an investigation of this atrocity and reminds the Turkish Authorities of their obligation to the International Laws and Conventions.
