Life Without You
~*I wrote a letter yesterday
Just trying to explain
Couldnt find the words to say
Cause you are so far away
So far away
I wrote a letter yesterday
Its so hard for me to face
That it had to end this way
But my love will never change
Will never change*~

He sat in the empty hotel room, looking down at his journal. The one thing that set his mind at ease. It felt good to pour out the depths of your heart and soul; the very essence of your being into writing. Thats what kept him going day after day. His writing. The hope that one day, all the stress and strain on his back would be released. He looked over at the letter he had started writing to Danielle, his rock, his strength. He had never wanted to leave her to go on tour with his friends, but he really didnt have a choice.

She refused to come with him. Saying she needed some sense of normality in her life, and that was school. She meant the world to him. But for some reason he had put singing first. There wasnt a day that went by, when he wondered if he had done the right thing. He remembered the way her dark eyes danced with laughter when he made her laugh, and the innocent way shed cry at practically anything.

He loved watching movies with her, holding her in his arms as she cried softly against his shoulder, loved stroking her golden-brown hair as he sang her to sleep. He remembered the first time he had bumped into her at Disney World, literally. Being the klutz he was not paying attention to where he was going, he slammed right into her, nearly causing him to fall on top of her. Luckily, she had grabbed his arms and steadied him, trying not to laugh at his clumsiness.

~*When I search my soul to find the truth about the love we shared
I wonder why youre no longer here*~

It took a while to open her up, she was shy and timid at first, but soon hed found someone just like him. Hyper, crazy, and fun. She was never afraid to be herself around him, never afraid to show how much she cared about him in front of others. He sighed to himself. God, he missed her. He knew that once he left on tour, theyd never get to see each other. But, still he still longed for the day when he could take her back in his arms and hold her till the end of all time.

~*You can just walk away
But I dont feel the same
My heart still beats for you, breathes for you, sings for you
And those feelings will never fade
I can hide my pain
But I can never hide the way I feel for you*~

He set down his pen and looked down at what hed written. He blinked his eyes a couple times, only to find the more he blinked the blurrier his vision got, and soon he felt the tears had started to fall. He wasnt sure why he didnt at least make an attempt to call her maybe because she never tried to call him? No. This wasnt her fault. He was sure she had moved on with her life, found someone new He grabbed the phone and dialed her number. He had no idea what he was going to say to her Hello? The familiar voice echoed in his ears. He couldnt speak. It was as if his mouth were frozen in place. He wanted so bad to, but he just couldnt. Hello? He shut his eyes as he hung the phone up. As much as he loved her, he couldnt do that to her.

He couldnt just waltz in and out of her life whenever he felt like it. It wasnt fair. He knew that. He closed his journal and set it aside and laid back on the bed. The guys had continually tried to convince him to either talk to her, or to find someone new, but he couldnt. Not when he loved someone else.

Next day (sound check)

Justin looked over at his friend, who looked like he had been up all night, stressing about something. He looked over at Lance, who had obviously noticed the same thing. Hey, looks like he pulled an all-nighter again. Lance nodded. Id say so. Do you think its Danielle again? Justin sighed. Most likely. I think he still regrets leaving her behind. Lance shrugged. I dont get it. She was the one who left him, right?

Thats what he told me. Chris said, walking up. Hes going to make himself sick. The other two nodded in agreement. We need to think of something thatll cheer him up, somehow.

He tossed and turned that night as he attempted to sleep. But he couldnt. Hed been having the same dream over and over again. Shed come to find him, and as soon as he started toward her, she vanished. Hed always wake to find himself in some other hotel halfway around the world.

~*Ive been talking in my sleep
About the way it used to be
Girl, I pray that youll hear me
And then Ill see you in my dreams
Oh, in my dreams
But I cant forget the words you said to move on with my life
And no matter what Ill carry you inside*~

He sighed. I cant do this anymore. Soon enough, Im going to drive myself insane. And I dont want that. But he had come to a point where he just didnt care anymore.

Justin looked around and smiled as he saw the face he hadnt seen in what felt like years. She smiled shyly as she saw him and started toward him. He grinned and hugged her. Howve ya been? She shrugged. Ive been better. He nodded. So has he. She looked down. Im still not sure as to why Im here, exactly. He sighed. He needs you, Danielle. More than anything. And I know you need him too. She bit her lip and looked away. I dont think Im ready to see him, Justin. Im sorry, but I cant.

He shook his head. You have to. Please? Hes not himself anymore. We want the old JC back. She took a deep breath. Where is he? He grinned. Back at the hotel. She nodded. Lets go then.

He sat outside, watching the sun set behind the clouds, thinking. Thinking about everything. His life, his family, friends, her. Everything that held value to him. He glanced down at the bustling city below and sighed.

~*Sooner or later youre going to realize
That this type of love happens once in your life
So open your eyes, girl, and see what we could be
Come back to me*~

She looked at his door, contemplating whether or not to knock. She knew she missed him more than anyone in the world, but she was still unsure of how this could work. But she had to try. She took a deep breath and knocked slightly.

He looked over at the door, figuring it was Justin or someone. He sighed and got up and answered it, completely unprepared for what stood in front of him. Danielle?

She smiled. Hey there. He took a step back, afraid to find she wasnt real. She looked at him, strangely. Mind if I come in? He shook his head. No, come on in. She walked in and shut the door behind him and smiled. Well. Here I am. Dont I even get a hug or anything? He launched himself in her arms, pulling her close, not wanting to let go. She smiled to herself, knowing that coming here was probably the best idea, shed thought of in a long time. Im so sorry, JC. I- I should have come with you. I never shouldve let you get away from me. He smiled and pulled away. I should have come back and gotten you. Either that, I never shouldve left in the first place. I love you Danielle. She grinned, trying not to cry. I love you too. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, letting all doubts and worries escape her. She wanted to concentrate on now. And now was right here with JC.

The End!
