Chapter Eighteen
Exactly seven months later, Melissa's mother, Sandy, was staring at her daughter in amazement with tears filling her eyes. Sandy sniffled and smiled through her tears as she shook her head slowly. "I can't believe this. It seems like only a few days ago I was holding you in my arms for the very first time. And now, here you are, all grown up, and getting married."

Melissa looked up and smiled proudly, as she slowly got up and walked towards her mom, hugging her tightly. Sandy smiled and closed her eyes, holding her daughter as close to her as she could without messing up her elegant wedding dress. "I love you so much Melissa. You have made me so proud."

Melissa sighed and let a few tears roll down her cheeks as she hugged her mom just as tight, "I love you too Mama." Sandy sighed and reluctantly pulled away, smiling through her tears. "Well, let's get you out there before we have an over-anxious groom on our hands."

Melissa sniffled and nodded, then looked in the mirror carefully wiping a few tears off her face, being careful not to smudge her makeup. She then followed her mom out of the room, to where her dad was waiting for her. He smiled and had tears rolling down his face. Melissa took a deep breath and began to tear up again herself.

There had only been two instances in her life when she seen her dad cry - when she graduated from High School, and now. That was always his way of showing just how proud of her he was.

Garland hugged his daughter tightly and kissed her forehead, sniffling quietly. "I love you so much Melissa. I could never have asked for a more perfect daughter." Melissa sighed hard and kissed her father's cheek. "I love you too, Daddy."

Garland smiled through his tears and held out his arm for Melissa to take. She smiled and took a deep breath, looping her arm through his. Garland put his other hand over her arm and gave it a reassuring squeeze as he walked her down the aisle.

Once they were to the front, Garland lifted Melissa's veil and kissed her cheek, then turned towards JC handing her to him. "Take good care of her." Garland whispered through his tears. JC smiled and nodded as he shook her father's hand. "I swear I will." Garland nodded his head in approval and took his seat beside Sandy, as JC smiled at Melissa and faced the minister.

The minister smiled at the couple that stood before him as the ceremony was drawing to a close. "By the power vested in me, and before the eyes of God, your friends and family, I now pronounce you husband and wife." The minister paused and smiled at JC. "You may kiss the bride."

JC smiled and lifted Melissa's veil, then leaned down cupping his face in her hands, kissing her softly. "I love you," he whispered against her lips. Melissa smiled and laid her hands over his. "I love you too, Jace."

Everyone then proceeded to the location where the reception was to be held. JC smiled and kissed Melissa's neck as they danced, pulling her closer to him. "Today has been perfect." Melissa sighed and nodded, resting her chin on his shoulder closing her eyes. "Beyond perfect," she smiled.

JC leaned down and lifted Melissa's chin, gazing deep into her eyes, then ran his hand down her cheek slowly, "I have never been more blessed in my entire life. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, have a family and raise our kids together."

Melissa bit her lip and smiled, gazing deep into his eyes. "I can't wait either. I love you so much." JC leaned his forehead against hers and ran his fingertips down her cheek. "For Eternity."
