| The young brunette glanced down at the paper in her hands, nervously. She wasn't sure she was able to do this, but she knew she had to. Raising her hand to knock softly on the door in front of her, she bit her lip in frustration. She heard a muffled yell from inside, and she took it as her cue to enter. She walked in, a bit taken back by the mess she was greeted with. The other girl, hair piled up on top of her head in a messy bun, phone to her ear, pen in her hand, pacing behind her desk. She cleared her throat, and the busy girl looked up in surprise. Chloe held up a hand, and hung up the phone. "Can I help you with something?" Kira shook her head. "No, but I can help you." Chloe nodded, sitting down at her desk. "Go on." Kira sighed. "I'm sorry, if I came and caused some trouble it wasn't ever my intention Cynda came to me and told me the complete opposite, saying that he needed to talk to me, and needed to be with me, so it was taken completely out of context. But.. I am sorry, if things got misunderstood." Chloe shook her head. "Actually you coming here, probably helped, if anything." Kira shook her head, confused. "I'm sorry?" Chloe nodded. "If you hadn't come here, a relationship between me and JC never could've grown into anything. Your memory would have always been lurking in the back of his mind. This way, maybe he can sort things out finish the unfinished business." Kira nodded. "Him and I did talk things out. I did some pretty unforgivable things but, things aren't as tense between us any longer. But that still doesn't mean him and I could ever become friends again he cares about you, Chloe. He's just trying to sort everything out right now." Chloe nodded. "I see. Well, thank you, for coming to straighten things out. I appreciate it." Kira nodded. "Goodbye, Chloe you have an amazing man out there. Don't forget that, like I did." Chloe watched the girl walk out of her office and sat down in her chair, shaking her head. She put her head in her hands and sighed. When did things get so complicated? She sighed, and stood, walking toward the door, wanting to walk around to escape the confines of her office. As she walked down the hall, she heard faint music coming from another room, which intrigued her. Listening closely, she followed it down to one of the recording studios and closed her eyes, as she let the all too familiar melody echo into her soul. She opened her eyes, standing in front of the room, watching JC stroke the piano's keys, eyes closed. She knocked softly, and the playing stopped, as he looked up. "Chloe. Hi." She smiled. "I know that song." He laughed, uneasily. "Yeah. Until I heard you play it, I'd forgotten how much I loved it." "I see." She gestured to the bench, and he scooted over to let her sit. "Just how long are we going to go on like this? Avoiding each other pretending we don't have feelings for one another?" He drew in a deep breath and sighed. "Good question." She sighed. "JC" He shrugged. "I don't know, ok? I just don't know anything, right now. But I do want to tell you how sorry I am for not believing you about the article. I should have seen right through Cynda." She shrugged. "I guess it's ok. I do, in a sense, understand where you're coming from just because of Kira." He sighed. "Thank you. For understanding." She nodded and stood up. He stopped playing and stood as well. Chloe sighed and on impulse, leaned in and wrapped her arms around his neck. He sighed and buried his face within her dark hair, and held her close. She pulled away and kissed his cheek and hurried out of the room, before she lost her wits. Hayden groaned, as he popped a piece of popcorn into his mouth. "So, that's it? Man. You two are killing me." Chloe smiled, as she stretched out on the couch. "Sorry, buddy. Stuff takes time. I mean I'm content. Not hills are alive with the sound of music happy, but.. I'm hangin' in there. JC'll come around, eventually, I hope." She sighed and glanced at the clock, before jumping up. "Ah! No! I have to go meet Tobey, in like 10 minutes. Goo!" Hayden raised his eyebrows. "Goo?" Chloe grinned, sticking out her tongue. "I'll be back in like an hour." He nodded, waving her on. "Adios." Hayden yawned, as he flipped through the various commercials on tv. Bored, he tossed the remote down and sighed. He frowned as he heard the doorbell ring, and he stalked to the door, and opened it. His eyes widened in surprise. "JC dude what in the crap are you doing?" JC smiled sheepishly, and he waved the movers in. "Bring it in this way, guys." Hayden shook his head in amazement. "I don't get it where are you gonna put it?" JC smirked. "Hayden how big is this house? I'm sure we can find room. Alright, carefully now here bring it in the room on the left." Hayden shook his head in awe. "But, that's the grand room." JC smiled. "Then it works out perfect. When is she coming home?" Hayden shrugged. "I don't know. Tobey took her out" JC nodded. "I know. It was all a set up." Hayden frowned. "Why wasn't I involved?" JC shrugged. "Tobey told me you had a big mouth." Hayden frowned. "He lies." JC grinned. "Oh, well. She should be home any minute soooo can you come back, I don't know, tomorrow maybe?" Hayden sniffled. "I can see when I'm not wanted." JC nodded. "Bye now." Hayden nodded. "No being naughty. I can take you." JC nodded. "Sure thing, dude." Chloe smiled, as she unlocked the door, waving to her brother, who claimed he had to go down to the arcade to play some games. She opened the door, and found the whole house dark, except for the light in the grand room. She frowned, and pushed through the swinging doors, and gasped in surprise, at what she saw. JC grinned, softly. "Hey." She shook her head. "You bought me a piano?" He nodded, and motioned her over to sit next to him on the stool. "You have a gift. I don't want you to let that gift go to waste." She smiled and sat down next to him. He smiled and tapped a few of the keys. I hope you like it." She grinned. "I love it." She leaned over and hugged him tightly. JC smiled, and cupped her face with his hand. "Well I love you." Her eyes widened in shock, as he lowered his face to hers, eyes begging for the ok. She smiled and leaned into him, kissing him. She sighed happily. For the first time, she was truly happy with someone. She pulled away, hugging him tightly. "I love you too, JC." He grinned. "Play something for me. Please?" She sighed. "I suppose I could do that." He grinned. "Yay." She smiled, as she launched into a shortened version of Brian McKnight's "Never Felt This Way". He sighed, and stood up, and held out his hand. "Go watch a movie?" She nodded. She rested her head on his chest, and he smiled down at the figure lying in his arms. He held her tightly, never wanting to let her go. "Hey, Chlo?" She glanced up at him. "Hmm?" He grinned, kissing her forehead. "Thank you." She shrugged. "For what?" He smiled, shyly. "For letting me love you." She smiled, and hugged him. "Well, thank YOU for making me happy." He sighed. "Hayden'll be jealous, huh?" She frowned. "Why would he be?" He grinned. "Cuz. I'll be spending more time over here than him." She grinned. "Hey, I'm not complaining. I'm not complaining at all." He smiled, as he watched her snuggle deeper into his chest, and he smiled, resting his head on hers, glad that she had found true happiness and glad that he had found love. The End!!!
