Chapter Three
"Oh, I wonder where you are, my heart says you're not far from me, it's so hard for me to leave those years behind...."-Brian McKnight
(parking lot)

Alright, lets go in, get ya settled and maybe well take you out later. JC said all too seriously. Katie frowned, pouting. Maybe? He grinned slyly. Maybe. She rolled her eyes. Ugh, fine.

(in hotel)

Justin handed her her key. Heres your key. This is your room. Im next door, Lance is on the other side and JCs across, got it? She yawned. Yeah, yeah. Im not like you, who needs stuff repeated fifty times. He smiled and pinched her cheek. Cute. Reeaal cute. Katie walked in, tossed her suitcase on the bed and ran out to the balcony to see the view and inhale the fresh air. Meanwhile, Joey, Chris and Lance entered. Joey looked at Justin. So, wheres your cousin? Katie walked back in. Hiya.

Well, hello! He elbowed Justin. You never told me she was this hot! Justin gave him a warning look. Hey, man, watch it. Katie smiled. Hi Joey. He laughed. Yeah, hey, howd you guess?

She smiled. Well, I own a TV for one, and second Ive heard about you. He feigned shock and disgust. Nothin bad, right? he asked innocently. She smirked. Guess thats for me to know and you to find out, isnt it? Chris laughed. Ooh! She told you! Im Chris. In his deep Mississippi voice Lance spoke up. Im Lance. Katie smiled. Its nice to meet you all.

We should let you rest? Lance asked. Katie laughed. Hah! Rest? Me? No way! Take me out! Joey laughed. My kinda girl! She smiled. Alright! Everyone out while I change. Joey groaned. Awww, but She gave him a warning look. Out! He held up his hands in defense, edging out. Got it! As they leave, she opened her suitcase in search of something to wear. Hmm, what to wear Here we go! She changed into a black mini-skirt, red halter and pulled out a black lacy top and heels. She walked over to the mirror and fixed her hair so it would fall around her shoulders and then put on makeup. She felt a twinge of guilt, as she put on her lipstick. Gosh. Here I am going out to a party and my boyfriends home probably working on his music Man, what am I doing? This isnt me. If I were home Id probably be curled up in the hammock reading, or out with Matt

She grabbed her cell to call him. Matt? Hey baby, its me. Yeah, Im here. Yeah, I miss you too what? A song? For me? Aww youre too, too sweet. Yeah, Im pretty upset I cant be there to see you guys sing So, what are you doing now? She smiled, as she listened. Ohh, working in the garage? The guys are there? Tell em hi for me. Ok. What am I doing? Um, actually gonna go sight-seeing Yeah, so Ill let you go, k? I luv you too. Bye. She hung up and sighed, when she heard a knock. Its open. JC poked his head in. Hey, ready? She nodded. Yeah. She stood up and grabbed her purse. Lets go. She shut the door behind her. Where are the others?

Downstairs already. She got on the elevator and pressed down. Oh. Wait, wait, wait. He looked at her. What?
Are there a whole mob of fans? He shrugged. Uh, well, Im not sure. She nodded. Oh, ok. He looked at her, noticing how great she looked.

The doors opened and Katie walked out and over to the guys. Hey guys. Joey stood up. Hey, girl! Damn you look good! She smiled. Thanks, should we go? Chris nodded. Yeah. Making small talk, the group headed out to where the limo awaited. Katie smiled evilly. And I thought you werent supposed to be spoiling me?

Uh, quick fans coming and coming fast, hurry hop in. Lance said. Katie jumped in as did all the others. Oh yay, psychotic screaming girls. I dont see the big deal in you guys. She said sarcastically. Justin chuckled. You knew it was comin. She groaned. Yeah, I know. So where we goin?

Well, you said you wanted to party, right? Well were going down to the old MTV warehouse, theres a huge party goin down. You want celebs, you got em. Justin said. She smiled. Excellent. She leaned back and sat in silence as she examined them. First, there was her dorky cousin, then Joey- who was like a big Italian teddy bear, way too flirty, but cute in his own lil way. Then Chris. Man, thank god he lost the dreads, cuz he looked so much better without them. And Lance, the blond-haired, yellow-eyed shy southern sweetie- what a darlin! And finally JC- hed grown up so much since the last time she saw him. Heck, itd been 7 years! Still the serious one, but still had the most soulful blue eyes and boyish smileTonys best friend. Her thoughts flickered back to 7 years ago
