Greetings from Ike Gamboa and Family

 

 

 

 

Enrique (Ike) Gamboa & Regina (Gina) Gamboa and children.  Their children from top left (sitting with Ike and Gina) to bottom left are as follows: Regge, 2nd son, 24 years old (a bio-chemist college senior student/dental hygienist in Washington DC National Guard); Eric, oldest son, 26 years old (Former Air Force, a budding writer cinematographer college student, Reyhan, youngest son, 15 years old (computer/car designer enthisiast) & Antonette, only daughter, 20 years old (Health Information Tech major/minor in psychology/Optometrist wannabe and a member of the Maryland U.S. Air Force National Guard).

 

Ike is presently working as a Liaison specialist with he U.S. Transportation Command Liaison  Office in the Pentagon, Washington, DC.  Ike was the oldest of the eleven children and 1st US citizen in his family.  He brought his parents and five siblings in the US whom each and everyone in turn became US Citizens and have their own secured livelihoods.  His father was a school teacher and his mother was a fish vendor in San Fernando, Pampanga.  Since elementary school days through college, he has been a working student.  During his pre-teens, he helped with their livelihood by selling banana-cues, camote-cues, Ever-ice drop and beverages in movie theaters.  He completed elementary level education and graduated from sixth grade at San Fernando Elementary School in year 1961.  He continued his high school education at JASHS.  He was in section 2 during 1st and 2nd year and section 4 in 3rd and 4th year.  He graduated as one of the first graduates of JASHS in year 1965, under the tutelage of Mrs. Tecson.

 

During his first two years in Assumption College, he worked as a maintenance person in return for a 50% tuition assistance in the same college.  During the third year, he joined the college musical band which paid for the remaining 50% tuition fees for his college education.  During these years, he continued to earn extra money by working odd jobs and construction work on the side to compensate for his other college expenses.  During his last year in college, Ike was the Assistant Manager/ Bookkeeper at the Bus Stop Hotel/ Restaurant located in Dolores, San Fernando, Pampanga.  In spite of  a busy schedule. Ike was also active in sports i.e. volleyball, softball and martial arts.  He was also a member of the Assumption College Junior CPAs during his college days.  He garnered a degree in Bachelor of Science--Accounting Major, in year 1969.  After college, he was a part-time insurance underwriter until he got a job as a cost accountant in Aurea Cereamics Ind., Inc.  He also worked with Mercury Drug as a sales person in six months before he immigrated to the United States.  IN august 1976, he joined the US Air Force as an Information Technology Specialist.  He worked for almost 24 years in the US Air Force and was assigned to various bases in Texas, Florida, Korea, the Philippines and finally, in the Washington DC where he retired last April 2000.  He is married to the former Regina Petell Lorenzo from Saguin, San Fernando, Pampanga (currently working at the Bolling Air Force Base in Washington DC Dining Facility as a cashier for over 10 years.)
