PROVINCIAL PROFILEThe province of Pampanga is located at the central portion of Region 3. It is bounded in the north by Tarlac and Nueva Ecija; in the east by Bulacan; in the southeast by Manila Bay; in the southwest by Bataan; and in the west by Zambales. Pampanga has a total of twenty-one (21) municipalities spread out over an area of 736, 626.96 hectares. Pampanga is primarily an agricultural province; its vast fertile lands are devoted mainly to the production of rice, corn, and other agricultural crops. Despite the onset of floods, especially during the rainy season, Pampanga remains to be the center of trade and commerce throughout the region. The Pampanga Police Provincial Office has a ready force of 834 uniformed personnel to cater to the 1, 544, 074 population, which accounts for a ratio of one (1) policeman for every 1, 851 population. There are 20 Municipal Police Stations, One (1) component City Police Station, a Provincial Mobile Group and a Provincial Special Reaction Unit (PSRU). |
