I live in a beautiful part of West Virginia called Jackson's Mill, home of Stonewall Jackson. My husband retired this past April with 36 years of service with Union Carbide/Graftec. I am very active with our local fire department. My son is the fire chief and is the youngest fire chief in the state of WV and also held the title longer than anyone in our area :). We spend our time gardening, doing yard work, working around the house in and out side. Our other hobby is Wal-Marting. We are in the process of planning a wedding for our daughter who is our only child still at home. After she marries in April my husband and I will be alone for the first time in 35 years. We will enjoy our days together as long as the good lord lets us. We are really looking forward to our time together. It will be hard on my husband as most of you know, he lost his dad, his buddy, on January 3rd, 2003. He is grateful that he has had the last 10 months of retirement to share and spend it with his dad.
I like to watch "Days" and "Y&R". I have watched "Days" from day one. I am so grateful that I found the cat sites. I have met a lot of wonderful people that I spend my days and evenings with. They have given me a new lease on life and I want to think you all for being here. God Bless you all and I will be talking to all of you every day :). I am very happy to have met you all; you are a special group of great people. Love to you all, Viv email Viv at: [email protected]
Meet Viv..... My name is Vivian Burnside, I go by Viv on the cat sites. I am married to a great guy, his name is Ron. We have been married for 38 years. We have three grown children, Jack, Dan, & Trisha. We also have three grandchildren, Mitchell, Kali, & Alexis. I have four wonderful cats; Poof, 18 years old; Junior, 4 years old; and Daddy's girl Autumn, who is 2 years old, and........ Summer: I opened my door on a beautiful July morning & what seemed like a big bug flew into my house, I turned & saw Jr. & Autumn standing stiff legged & ears back & what looked like shock in their eyes, there it was staring back, this tiny wisp of a kitten, I thought at the time uh oh my husband is gonna have a fit but oh well, I scooped her up, gave her food & water, she was so hungry she cried with each bite, my heart melted right there on the spot, this little thing never stopped purring & still to this day is always purring..Hubby comes home & had that fit, what are we going to do with another cat? That didn't stop me, and the day wasn't even over til hubby fell in love, he named her Summer I wanted to name her Lucy or Sadie but I was not going to argue with him, so Summer it is..She is the love of our life a very special cat, I love my other guys with all of my heart but we all know that feeling when that special one walks into our lives, Summer is that special one...She loves everybody, is not afraid of anyone or anything not even the sweeper..I was a real neurotic new meowmie about everything, I am over the hump but now her spay date is fast approaching & I am getting nervous, but I'll get thru it with all of the encouragement given by others at acme house of cats, so be prepared, the closer the spay dates comes the more worried and nervous I am becoming.

Board name: Wilkal Human name: Carol Hello all, My husband Rob and I have been married for almost seventeen years and we have an almost fourteen year old daughter. We are graciously allowed to coexist with two felines at this time. Lord William Fred is the oldest at ten years and is definitely the master of the house. He lets us share the living space in exchange for feeding and copious scritches. He is a grouchy surly sort but when he decides to be he is very affectionate. He is a dark gray Russian blue that had recessive genes. In other words they couldnt sell him so got rid of him cheap. He has owned me since he was nine weeks old. According to the breeders records he was born on July 25th. He was an only cat for seven and a half years. Kali-lala-purrpurr. While dropping off some blankets for a local cat shelter I was grabbed from a cage. When I looked at the culprit I saw a very skinny injured Calico. I asked if I could hold her and when she melted on me I knew I was doomed. Kali was pulled from a kill shelter shortly before it was her turn. She was beaten and pregnant. None of the kittens survived. She had a broken nose and broken jaw. There was some brain damage (not the brightest bulb in the house) and she is blind in her left eye. My daughter has Cerebral Palsy and told my husband and myself that "She is just like me!" We paid the adoption fee on the spot and brought Kali home two weeks later. I have been owned by cats my whole life and find a great deal of satisfaction in their existence. My rainbow angels: Prissy, Sammy, Tk, Toe, Thomas, Tiny, Sissy and Bubba Lou will never be forgotten. I currently feed a few strays that think they own me also. Chirp, a brown girl tabby. Tuxie tuxan, a black and white boy. Tom tom, a brown tabby boy. Okieson, an orange tabby boy. Thorn a little grey tabby boy and last but not least Fooflepoof, a long haired cream colored cat, dont know if its a boy or girl.
