Rusty Granstrom "A Dog's Life"
Hello, my name is Rusty. I am a golden retriever. I was born in Coos County, Oregon to a gun dealer and named "Clyde". When I was 11 months old a nice lady named Pam bought me for $40.00. This was the start of my career as a caretaker for this lamebrained chick. She changed my name to "Rusty" as she said Clyde sounded "criminal". I did some garbage can dumping for a while until she made me see the light on that one

Soon after I landed in Pam's house, she took me to the vet and things were never the same after that... Oh well. I really can't complain, we have many fine adventures, especially when we travel with Janet and Kaia, (my malamute friend). I especially love the bacon first thing in the morning, and the water in a nice cold creek on a hot day when we're camping .

On June 8th, 2003, Rusty's life came to a close. He had been diagnosed earlier in the year with an incurable spinal condition called Spondilosis Deformens. It eventually caused him great pain and paralysis. He was very brave in the end and will be missed terribly. His ashes were scattered in his favorite creeks.
