The Rules, The Costs, The Prizes, The Form

Dear Football Fan:

It's that special time of year. Time to watch the leaves change colors, Time to get the winter clothes ready, Time to stock the fridge with beer, Time to make sure the TV still works, Time to sign up for ... "Pam's Football Extraordinair". Here's how it works :

THE RULES:

EXTRAORDINAIR POOL: The pool is similar to those "Pick the Winner" pools which appear in the newspaper. Except it's on a smaller scale (i.e. You have a better chance of winning). Each week you try to pick the winners of the 16 weekly NFL games. The pool DOES NOT USE the Las Vegas line. However, The pool DOES USE "Confidence Points". For those unfamiliar with confidence points, here's how they work: After picking your 15 winners of the week, you rate your picks from 1 to 16 based on which games you have the most confidence in (1=lowest, 16=highest). On weeks where teams have byes, games would be rated on a 1-14 scale etc. You then receive that many points for each game that you pick correctly. The weekly winner is the person with the MOST total points for that week.

ELIMINATOR POOL: Your Highest Ranked game each week (e.g., Your #16 point game in a week where there's 16 games, Your #14 point game in 14 game weeks) becomes your Eliminator Team for the week. If they win, You move on to the next week. If they lose, you're out of the Elimator Pool. Last player(s) standing win the yearly prizes.

THE COSTS:

$40.00 gets you in for the whole year ($35 for Extraordinair, $5 for Eliminator).
Add $2.50 for postage if you want results mailed back to you (monthly ... weeks #4, #8, #12, #16, #17).

THE PRIZES: (ALL Entry Fee money is redistributed in prizes!)

NOTE: There are no tie breakers. If there are multiple winners the prize money is split accordingly.
(These are the prizes based upon 50 entries in the pool (the max) and could change based upon the number of participants)

WEEKLY:

The winner each week receives $40.00 for 1st place. $10.00 for 2nd place

There is also a weekly "Perfecta Pot" awarded to any winner(s) who pick all of the games correctly. The pot starts out at $10.00 and increases by $10.00 a week until somebody wins it. It then starts over again at $10.00. Any money leftover from the "Perfecta Pot" at the end of the year will go towards a "Super Bowl Block Poll".

YEARLY:

EXTRAORDINAIR: There are 7 yearly prizes for the 7 people who accumulate the most points during the year:
1st: $200.00 2nd: $150.00 3rd: $125.00 4th: $100.00 5th: $75.00 6th: $50.00 7th: $25.00
There is 1 yearly prize of $5.00 awarded to the LAST place finisher who submits picks for all 17 weeks.

ELIMINATOR: $200 for 1st place (Last Player Standing), $50 for 2nd place (2nd to Last Player Standing)
