Describe a time in a movie or book you are familiar with when a frightening or unpleasant situation made a character feel closer to a friend.

In the movie The Little Mermaid the main character, Ariel, grows closer to her father after a very frightening experience. Ariel was a very outgoing and adventurous girl, and her father was very protective of her. He hated all non-mermaids, where Ariel loved them and wanted to be one. She frequently visited the “outside”and her father grew furious. He destroyed her collection of man artifacts and grownded her. She fell in love with a human and made a deal with Ursula, the evil witch, that she would kiss him or else shw would get her soul. The problem was that she was not allowed to say 1 word. She accepted, but Ursula had plans of her own and sabatoged all chances of Ariel kissing the man. Ursula took Ariel’s soul, and then her father’s, king Triton, but then the man kills Ursula and rescues everyone. From then on King Triton is not so protective of Ariel, and they grow closer together. They see one anothers views more clearly and he no longer hates man.
