I'm at that age,
When wisdom comes to me
Of all wrong doings,
I do now clearly see

Grayish curls,
Fall upon my brow
Faint small lines,
Are noticed now

I don't fit in,
With the older folks
To the younger,
I'm just another joke

I'll find a place,
Within this world
I will show you all,
I am not a girl

A woman,
I have long since been
This has been known,
to all my friends

A lady still,
I have yet to be
That comes with time,
But soon you'll see

I will learn,
Who I shall become
Inside my heart,
Will stay forever young.
