Bottom petal Carry thread to next petal and make 5 scallops; around 1st half of bottom petal (do a reverse chain with 3p sep. by 2ds) to fill the "V" shape as in Fig. 3. continue scallops around the petal as above. 10 scallops approximately ....................................... Do next side petal as above ............................................ Back petals Carry thread to next petal, and make 9 scallops; around large petal 9 scallops aproximately (fig 6) red shows dig. for 10 scallops aprox. |
The two large petals have 2 rows of scallops, but with 2p in first and last scallops of each petal instead of 3p's. reverse/turn work and do 2nd row of scallops on back petals ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FINAL SCALLOPS Thread needle with cream,or the med.color and and work around each petal. Always start next petal on its first p. first and last scallops of 6ds's, jumping 1 picot the others 12ds's jumping 2 picots. (have 6ds's at each end of each petal) ============================================================================ Calyx, stem and leaves OPTIONAL Make the stems and leaves with thread as near the natural color as possible. STEM 1st half spiral chain sp ch. 60 1/2 sts (first half)or to desired length when pulled tight LARGE LEAF ring 5ds p 5ds p 5ds p 5ds chain 2ds p 2ds. STEM 2nd half Ch: 25 1/2 sts. (2nd half) or for length desired p 25 1/2 sts, or length needed to reach the center ring do calyx CALYX (fig 7) calyx cut and tie hide ends in usual manner (pic 3) 2ds VLp 2ds.4X's total. Do small leaf SMALL LEAF join to p on spiral ch. tat same as large leaf (skiping 1 ring and 1 chain.) attach to back of pansy between p's lightly but firmly. so as not to flatten the work also tack where you want the leaves to show. Do not press. but arrange with the fingers. Overlap the petals The stem could be done on wire. I haven't tried that yet. ENJOY and HAVE FUN HAPPY TATTING |
DO ANOTHER SIDE PETAL as above (with the dark brown) BACK PETAL- Join MED. COLOR thread to ring p of last side petal, carry thread to next p of center ring, join . 1)....ch: 2ds (15p sep. by 2ds) 2ds. join in same p. 2)....Ch: 2ds (13p sep. by 2ds) 2ds. join in centre p of previous ch. 3)....Ch: 2ds (13p sep. by 2ds) 2ds. join in same p in centre ring, then join to the ring p of first side petal Do another BACK PETAL as above thread should be still be threaded from 2nd large petal. carry thread to join into p of first side petal.(to start the scallops) Petal-scallops Ch: 2ds (3p sep. by 2ds) 2ds. The scallop is worked like this:- picots of each prev. chain is skipping a number of picots,(see diagram) Side petal Join thread and Make 7 scallops around the Middle petal 7 scallops approximately if it doesn't work out exactly. DON'T worry. just make sure the least amount of picots skipped are at the sides of petal. |
