| Sleater-Kinney breaks my heart & I bleed. But at least i know i'm alive. They are not only three really talented women playing in the same room, but a unity created by their chemistry, that feels like electricity. And they are nice people too. Fuck riot grrrls, S-K is a band. They may have political choices, and some the lyrics talk about women in society but the music is always the main issue. Ok, i know the riot grrrl thing was huge to our culture, but not much for the music industry. The fact is, there are a very few good "riot grrrl" bands. Cause their focus is political. Cause no one wants to hear a bad song, even if it has a grrreat (ja!) lyric. And i say as a quasi feminist. |
