1 ) The University is developing fast, on the line of Aligarh Muslim U. and Jamia Milia Islamia.
2 ) It is under IslamicCounsil ofPracticalEducation and maintains vigil and discipline (by threat of fines) to a high degree.
3 ) It provides hostel facility, bus facility, labs, Bank (PNB) and cyber cafe facilities in campus.
4 ) The Workshops for Mechanical Engineering are in a very good order with working models and all (though the models are small)
5 ) The library is well equipped, with a large reference section, and a CD library having about 3-4 computers, for viewing the CDs that come with the reference books.
6 ) The reference-library contains a photocopier, for use of the students, though the charges are just double (more than Re 1) of what is outside the campus.(Re 0.60)
7 ) The teachers are encouraging and help the student even personally. (Anti Ragging, Hostels, Mess-Complaints etc.) There is a placement cell too.
1 ) Inspite of good facilities, the students are not the creme-class (as in IIT etc.)
2 ) There is good library facility, with a CD library, magazine section, Book Bank and a large Reference section;- but the CDs can't be issued for home, book bank is the selection of books by the assistant, not the student.
3 ) No ragging sometimes means lesser interaction with seniors and hence lesser help.
4 ) The campus is quite small when compared to other universities (though it is rapidly expanding)
5 ) Majority of the teachers are from the JMI, hence though knowledgiable,- lack the experience of PhD. proffessors.
6 ) The computers still work at Turbo C++ on Windows , etc. when the IIIT students are taught GNU-C++ (much better) on Linux.
7 ) I have just found out that the facilities here are worse than any government college.: - The CD library (all 3 computers ) here is out of order for more than a month (Jan.,2005 to March 2005) now and nothing is being done.
8 ) I asked the authorities for getting some good books into the library. For this I had to go from the library staff, to the department teachers, to the Pro VC, to the HOD, to submit my application with the requirement. The books have not yet been procured till date (a month has passed).
9 ) I even came across a book in the reference section (There could be many more...?); more tham 15 pages of which were torn and missing. When I reported the fact to the authority, he coolly told me to read another book !
