| Where does this river flow? I know where I want it to go Up not down, I can't help but wear a frown Looking up stream, I start to dream I see the risen savior, He says,"Follow Me and you will have favor." I start to swim up river It is difficult and cold I begin to shiver, I must be strong and bold, I feel weighted down It's holding me from my crown I noticed my hiking boots Holding me back like roots I let them fall to the river floor But realized there was more! I felt the heavyness of my bill-fold, I threw it and watched it skip across the waves That I once wanted, I no longer hold I see Him wave, Still calling me with a smile, But it seemed like another mile My clothes were last to go It was just hard to go against the flow The clothes were wet and cold like me Without them I felt free All was lost I swam intensly without cost Reaching Him... Cold, naked, and poor... I had no more. With love He looked me in the face Then held me with his warm imbrace I had obeyed His call, And now had all. |
