After graduation, Danny and I separately decided to move to Dallas.Danny started working at EDS as soon as he moved. When I got back from Europe and began my job search, Danny
told me that there was an opening in his group.I was hired for the job and Danny and I worked together at EDS until June 1999, when he moved to Austin to pursue a career in the mortgage business.
The distance reinforced how much we had grown to depend on each other and value each other's friendship, so we started dating in July 1999.
Our first date was on July 5, 1999 at the Oasis Restaurant in Austin. While the food could have been better, the view was gorgeous and we were both very excited about our new relationship. We dated long-distance until February 2000, when I moved down to Austin.
Danny and I met in May 1995 at the end of our freshman year at Trinity University through a mutual friend.
I could fantasize and say it was love at first sight, but Danny does not remember this encounter.
His memory picks up sometime during our sophomore year, when he and I would talk to each other when he visited my suitemates in the dorm.
It wasn't until second semester of our junior year that Danny and I got to be close friends. This started because we were both library nerds and needed someone to
take study breaks with.We staked out "our" table at the library and would frequently (perhaps too frequently) procrastinate by making origami footballs. We continued this
tradition through our senior year, when we found ourselves going to the library regardless of whether we actually needed to go or not, hoping the other would be there.
