1100 Congress Ave. at 11th Street, Austin (512) 463-0063 Suprisingly enough, this political science major has never actually been inside the Capitol, but I've heard it's a nice place to roam around the grounds or take a tour. |

2100 Barton Springs Road, Austin (512) 476-9044 We like to rent canoes (near Barton Springs Pool) or take the hike & bike trails. There is also a miniature train for the kiddos or for the young-at-heart. The 68-degree spring-fed Barton Springs Pool is a popular spot during our 100-degree summers. |

7000 Comanche Trail, Austin The only nude beach in Texas (and you were wondering why the picture to the left is so small). |

Congress Bridge at Congress and 1st Street, Austin Beware of bat dung -- millions of bats leave this bridge nightly just before dusk. Billed as among the "most spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities in America". |

East Sixth Street between Congress and IH-35 A great place to go to experience Austin nightlife and live music. Beware of inebriated college students and street vendors galore. |

3800 Mt. Bonnell Drive, Austin One of the most scenic points in Austin that overlooks the city and Lake Austin. Climb the 100 steps on your own or have a loved-one carry you. |

6550 Comanche Trail at Lake Travis Famous not only as the location of Danny and Lisa's first date, but also as one of the best places to watch sunset and sip on a frosty beverage. Be sure to sit on the a huge, multi-layered deck that overlooks Lake Travis. |

1826 Driftwood, Austin (512) 894-3117 It's a bit of a drive south of town, but it's definitely worth it for barbecue lovers! Located in a dry county in the Hill Country, so BYOB. |
