This lesser known boating destination has a lot going for it. It�s a beautiful beach location along the Intercoastal Waterway. It has trees for shade. It also has roadside parking so friends can meet up with you. What�s more? Across the street is an access trail to the South Jupiter Island�s Atlantic Ocean beach.
Local Knowledge: The South Jupiter Island Intercoastal Waterway Beach is crowded. It runs for only about a mile in length. Parking is limited along the side of the street.
The area is a favorite for jet skiers who put-in at the Burt Reynolds Park ramps and meet up with friends who drive over.
Abundant jet skis and fast-speed boat traffic in the narrow Intercoastal Waterway make this a Monster Wake Zone (the worst in the area.) Click here for more.
The bottom is a mixture of sand and sea grass. The current can be strong close to the Intercoastal Waterway channel. The water level can change dramatically with the tides.
Boats can easily nose-up to the beach and tie-off to the trees or anchor.

Water color changes with the tides (click here to read more on why this happens.) The best time to visit this area is from two hours prior to high tide until two hours after high tide. This is when the water is blue. Note that because of the area's unique characteristics, this area retains the clear blue ocean water longer than most places.
Some Jupiter Island residents don�t seem to like the public using this public area. Don�t expect a warm welcome from everyone who passes by.
A lot of litter and broken glass can be found in the area, despite the town�s efforts to keep it clean. Use footwear when swimming or walking on the beach to avoid broken glass.
This is an interesting place to snorkel.
Get there early. On weekends the area is generally full from mid-morning through night.
