Walk the bright city streets

Searching for the embers of your heart

For some spark to feed the flame

Harsh city lights showing the way

Down this boulevard of broken dreams

All the while endless wondering

What is there left for me?

 

Then looking across the asphalt rooftops

To the start of twilight's sky

See the fire tearing across it

As the sun marks the blazing new day

Stop and watch and you will see

The blackness melts into the blinding dawn

And the new colour washes over

Branding you and yours

Red is the colour of a new flame's heart

Red is the colour of new life's start

As endless night vanishes into day

Raging flash of the horizon

Burst out from pain's chaining ways

Banish the loneliness back to it's hole

Gaze upon the mirror the reflection of a friend
