Random Stuff...
School:

I'm currently attending Oklahoma State University. I'm a first time student and finding it very eye-opening to be going to college so long after high school.  But, people do it all the time and I decided it was time for me to continue my education.
Recommendations:

Music:

Anything non-mainstream
Go out there and find music that you've never heard of and actually listen to it. You will discover a million new songs and artists that you will be thankful for. And radio will have nothing to do with it.

For starters though, check out: Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, Linda Perry, Portishead, Ben Folds, Magwai, Blake Babies, Diana Krall, Bright Eyes, Cake, Ben Kweller, The Dismemberment Plan, Matthew Sweat, Moxy Fruvous, Future Boy, Mason Jennings, Mike Evin, The Brothers Creeggan...ok, I'll stop now else I never will.

Movies:

Again, get out there and watch non-mainstream. Rent something you've never heard of.

Try:  Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Royal Tenenbaums, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai. The Boondock Saints, The Salton Sea, Queen Margot, Raise the Red Lantern, Amelie, ect....

Authors:

My Comp teacher has opened my eyes to a lot of new authors.

Try:  Eireann Corrigan, Nick Flynn, Mark Doty, Sharon Olds, Tony Hoagland, Langston Hughes. Also, get the Paris Review Book, it's a fifty year anthology.
Current Classes, Fall Semester, 2004:
Religions of Mankind
Art History Survey I
German
American Government
I'm very thankful to my Art History teacher and my Comp teacher, both absolutely love what they are doing and it makes learning so much more enjoyable.  A great teacher takes the work out of learning, it's not a chore to learn in their classes.
