It happened. I became one of those people today. Those people who ride the bus. I'm officially a regular. I'm now confident enough to know when and where to catch my bus, chit chat with the bus driver, and can multi-task without fearing I'll miss my stop. Today, I even had people asking me for help on which bus went where.... and I knew.
But I did encounter one of the nicest bus drivers, and human beings in general today. Now I know that the job of driving for the Seattle Metro System is not fun. It has to be one of the most stressfull, tedious, and annoying jobs around, and 99% of the time, the drivers show the strain in their less than pleasent attitudes. But today, driving the # 3 bus to Lower Queen Anne was such a sweet guy! In general he was helpful to riders questions, and patient with all the people hurrying around. But then there was the stop where an elderly woman was trying to get off. He asked her several times if she was ok, and if she could see... however she didn't speak much English. So this guy made sure she was ok by helping her off the bus, walking her to the bus stop, setting her down, and waving down the person who was supposed to meet her. It was one of the kindest things I've seen in this city.
What are y'all doing slash being for Halloween? Sara and I close, so I'll get to see lots of cute children Trick or Treating at the mall.... I'm very homesick for cute children. Kimmy sent me photos of cute Tasha today... lovely children! She also sent general pics of the girls at home, so I'm posting them for y'all to see. Can't wait for these girls to come out for New Years!!!
