I don't know if I can deal with another season of American Idol. I'm pretty sure a lot of it is staged, which is fine, I know it's all for the ratings. But I don't like that it's marketed as completly real. I know everyone says this, but these people can't REALLY think that they can sing can they? It's impossible. I guarentee that some of those people were hired to sing like someone throwing an ostrich threw a window. Plus, I'm sorry but, I'm a firm believer that this is NOT the way to go about becoming sucessful. Granted the last season was gigantor humongo. Granted Kelly Clarkson has become a household name. Granted she's now got this record deal. But have you all seen her in the past few months? Heard any of her 'new and original' songs? Hell no you haven't. And yes she may be taking time in the studio to write and record, but as I type this I'm watching the "American Idols: Where are they Now?" Special. If this contest really created an everlasting icon we wouldn't need Fox TV to let us know what she's doing. Think about it. Seen O-town around lately? Me neither..which I'm bummed about cause that Ashely is the hottest dude with a chic name I've ever seen, but point is -- American Idol is a fad. Kelly Clarkson is a trend, and though she's a great singer, she won't last. I just heard her say "I don't care if I'm not famous" Good. Cause you won't be forever. I know I'm biased. I work for a talented, independent, full time touring rock band who busts their asses and mine to make great music and a good living on their art. They don't just hope for a break, a quick fix, the fast track to fame. You need to go through the hard shit in order to appreciate where you've been.
