So this the tale of the Fellwanderer Autumn trek along the border between Belgium and Germany. For a full account of this trip feel free to visit my adventurelog.

After a couple of hours of walking alongside a NATO military base we found a clearing just beyond the "do not enter" signs and pitched our tent.

After being woken up by a ranger telling us that we were camping in a hunting area where live rounds were being fired we quickly ate breakfast. We soon deafened by the blast of cannons from the NATO base not more than 30 meters away. This photo captures the first moment we had a chance to catch our breath after we got away.

We took a break in the later afternoon to bask in the sun. I took the opportunity to serenade everyone with my tin whistle.

And of course, a fellwanderer trip would not be complete without getting lost.

And when lost you follow the land marks that you have available to you... Fortunately this rail line was well out of service.

We passed through a lovely village and stopped into one of the restraunts for crepes. The experience would have been perfect had we not been swindled. The cost of our hot chocolates was labeled misleadingly and exceeded the cost of our crepes.

Braky showing us how river crossings ought to be done.
